Are you afraid she can't compete or is she the one afraid to step up?

Unfortunately we are two years and some consolidation away from being competitive.
Nobody is saying it will be a success right out of the gate. But good things take time to build. If we can get the FC girls to come over all bets are off. We have the talent in Portland but simply not two or three teams worth.

Please be patient and you wi be rewarded in the long run.

Agreed that this poster is full of it. Other than the fact that her D1 offer is due to ECNL. For most, being a good OPL player would secure a Montana State offer.

It will be politically difficult to merge FC Portland and Thusc United. Too many chiefs. It would be a great thing for soccer in Oregon no doubt. We need a professional mediator.

The families that get cut out will be the hardest hit and there are some powerful people with mediocre daughters that would be left out. That could get sticky real quick.

So U16 and below, ECNL may be for you. Otherwise, good luck.

I know that you have a hard time with facts but ECNL polished my DD's game and the coaches noticed.

Since the offer has been made and accepted the only Baloney you could be talking about is that you both are afraid your DD is not up to the challenge!

Me too! My daughter was getting her butt handed to her on a regular basis. Then we found ECNL and dropped the cash and boy are we happy we did. She's now getting looks from the USWNT, Stanford and UC Cal. It's amazing going from also-ran one day to a star the next. Thanks ECNL!

But it makes sense as the way to field a competitive team. Why not?

Hasn't it occurred to you that this is why THUSC and Crossfire Oregon merged for ECNL? Look at how many kids they bring together. Crossfire United will be far more competitive than FC Portland. Maybe FC should merge with WST.

Too bad WST doesn't have any good girls teams. Well, they had one, but it's in the process of being broken up.

Good point. WST's strategy lately has been to pull rec teams from Westside Warriors and turn them into competitive teams. They gotta keep than money rolling in to support their boy scholarships!

Speaking of scholarships, how much is being given to the lone WST player who is going to CU? Must be all inclusive including travel. Wonder if the other CU parents are aware since they are paying the full fees.
