If someone was to tell you that 80% of all college offers are below 5k a year, there are still some stupid people out there that would spend 35k over 4 years thinking because crossfire had good players, playing in their league makes your kid as good.

It's laughable. If you've got the money, buy the tickets. If you don't or are smart...put the money into a college tuition fund and realize if your kid is going to play college soccer it's not the league they play in but the time they put in.
But ECNL will turn average players into top players. It will take players who couldn't make A teams and make them into division II recruits. It will take A ream players who are mediocre and make them into Division I players and it will take A team starters into PAC 12 recruits. Whoops. The PAC 12 is almost done. Check that last part.

Not at all. The poster said "We get three quality coaches fully assigned to the team.". Either that means that Tina and Janine are doing nothing but coach the Thorns Academy, or he/she is referencing some other coaches that are "quality".

Or maybe there's a bigger picture than just your DD's year... 10 ECNL teams - 1 Academy team. Wonder which program is going to expose more girls to top competition and push them to be the best they can be?

You're fooling yourself if you think those coaches are only coaching the academy. If that's it, expect to pay way more than 10k.

So let me get this straight. Ecnl is brand new to the area. They are using the same coaches as before. Practicing more.

But somehow they are going to compete nationally?

If you have ten grand to spend, go for it and let us know how it works out. I do wish the ecnl teams good luck. I want to see them succeed but its going to be hard.

Christ you are stupid. Stick with your academy and play in college showcases. Have fun with that.

Nobody expects us to be successful right out of the gate. But if we can keep it moving forward for a couple of years and get some consolidation of the two teams, it should be successful.

Let's apply your same moronic logic to the timbers. Same coaches, same players, new MLS patch. Brilliant! Oh wait.... They are only doing the same showcase tournaments local clubs go to already.

But the big difference is they will practice three to four times a week now. The problem before is they only practiced twice a week. THAT'S why they were so lousy before. This solves everything.

Two years and a lot of luck. Seems about right.

The $10,000 per year is actually a really good deal if you figure there will be about 200 training sessions. That's about $5 per session per kid. You really get a lot for your money. Don't look at the gross cost but the value you get per dollar.

                          Why not pay 20k a year. 10$ a session.....

You used car salesman will say anything to get people to make your kid look better than average.

If only they were good coaches, then your point would be valid.

There are no good coaches by your standards or you don't know what you're talking about. You mouthbreathers will attack anything non Timbers or TA.
