It's going to be the same cost as any travel heavy team. The hope is that they subsidize the travel portion. If they do that, it will do very well.

ODP as bad as it has become at least is still better than putting the thorns name on rec soccer players. The couple good teams in the alliance will gain nothing, but hey at least the parents can stick together, like thats supposed to make it all better. I ask, are you doing whats best for you or what's best for your daughter? Maybe you can invite the college scouts to your block party BBQ.
You see? We warned you. When you get high on meth and post, this is what you get.

So the Thorns Academy, could be the powerhouse if they can somehow figure out how to subsidize it. It's a big if I realize, but until they announce it there is no way to know.

There is no money in women's professional soccer, so there is no return on investment for subsidizing girls academy teams. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for the mythical $500 Thorns Academy to happen.

The question is should you believe anything they publish?
That strategy could backfire. It would just confirm the Timbers attempt to derail ECNL.
Get the word out now and let parents and players decide which is the better program.

Is this your formal mention?
"July/August Thorns Academy Tryouts TBA"
A few preliminary details would help, namely projected cost, league and/or tournament competition and how this academy differs from ODP. Way too much to ask ?

As of now, FC hasn't announced their tryout dates. Why is no one getting on them? When are they going to announce them? FC is just as much an unknown as the Thorns academy. And don't give us the "you can set up a individual tryout at any time with FC" line. If I'm interested in FC, I want to see who all is trying out. I want to see the entire dynamics of the group. I don't want some individual tryout. That tells me nothing.

Those are important factors. FC needs to be held just as accountable for not putting out their tryout information.
