Stop trying to deflect the conversation onto the speakers.
You really think people are going to honestly and reasonably going to respond?

1. the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.
"he is known to be a man of integrity"
synonyms: honesty, probity, rectitude, honor, good character, principle(s), ethics, morals, righteousness, morality, virtue, decency, fairness, scrupulousness, sincerity, truthfulness, trustworthiness
When a professional organization says they are going to DO SOEMTHING and the DOES NOT they lack INTEGRITY. By NOT performing they become UNtrusworthy. By not delivering on their promise they exhibit POOR character and their motives (inhibit ECNL) for NOT doing so calls into question their Ethics.
I know you think that the negative opinion of the Thorns for NOT announcing their Academy is limited to us TS posters but that perspective is illogical as every top girl soccer player in the region is aware of the "promise' not kept.
The Thorns risk permanent damage to their reputation for failing to deliver.
Get it now?

For all the hand wringing over the past two years about encl you'd think that everyone would be a little more patient.
From what I understand the thorns academy is being actively hammered out, but it is pretty complicated figuring out how it gets paid for and how they are going to work with the clubs that have kids that want to participate. Sure people want it yesterday, but when you are relying on other people and trying to collaborate you sometimes have to be patient.

If true we should be told where they are

Not the POINT

I supported and still support the Academy concept AND ECNL. The "problem" is that the Thorns/Timbers are not doing what they said they were going to do and their silence is spurring all the speculation and negative reaction.
They have only themselves to blame and that is a shame as they are squandering their goodwill.

I worked for a large company where my job entailed being one of the lead negotiators on deals that involved a lot of different companies and government agencies. Two things I learned are you can't put a timeline on anything, because you just don't know when everything will fall into place. Secondly, you never even hint at details until the lawyers are done and the ink is dry. That is a good way to put yourself into a corner.

One of the first things you learn in corporate America is that radio silence in negotiations is critical. You control the things you can control. It's important.
You can't control rumors or speculation.
