You're probably right. Being accountable for past promises apparently isn't on the job description. Nor is creating a girls academy program. But what apparently is on his job description is to make vague promises via email and then not follow through.

A question though, don't you have to win something to go to FRWL or USYS? Don't you have to compete in a league? Additionally, just by slapping some kids together will those tourneys allow them entry? Not being snarky, honestly don't know.

FWRL is a "league" OPEN to members from teams associated with OYSA clubs. The Thorns would have multiple clubs with which to base the teams. Yes they would have to win State to get to regionals however that would be a done deal as they would have decimated any remaining Alliance team so they would be guaranteed a birth. Additionally, as a State cup winner they would have a preferred position for entry to Surf. The other tourney's are open to teams with a record of accomplishment and $'s.

The fact that the CHOICE of which direction to go has not been made tells ME that they are NOT going to do it this year and that they are enjoying creating uncertainty to sabotage the ECNL tryouts.

If that is the plan they are shooting themselves in the foot. They are competing with the best league in the country. They can't compete with the quality of the ECNL. The only way to compete is to offer something almost as good for less money. If they don't offer their plan before the ECNL tryouts, players who might have considered their product will decide to go to ECNL in the absence of another choice.

With all due respect to the WST/TS 16's an Academy team would have a superior roster and a body of work far superior with their appearances in OTHER out of state tournaments.

Not only doe the Academy NOT exist but they are saying that it's not going to be a $600 phone they are saying they can do everything the iphone does for $100.

If you wanted to make an ACCURATE analogy you would be talking about ANOTHER company saying that they are going to bring out a $100 phone that can do everything the iphone does. The MARKET and PUBLIC OPINION would savage them too for not delivering and stringing us out.
