Who is Cony? You seem to be hot for him/her.

At least someone was prepared for ecnl because you certainly weren't. But I suppose lack of intelligence runs in the family. It might be good for you to refute the numbers for your carpool friends who are not all in(literally) but that might require you taking your shoes off to count and we know that's not good.

      Its like watching Fox News.

It's amazing what happens when hype turns into reality and it doesn't add up. The people who are on here saying anything to get people on board will now have to deal with it not being what they said it was. This isn't washington or California and it certainly won't be now.

      Just my two cents.
Your talking about the Thorns Academy right? Works both ways.

You timbers guys seem to have been fully prepared for the Ecnl. Probably should just put all your prepared statements out at once. Probably not, you will just keep dribbling them on here hoping to damage the credibility of the Ecnl. These clubs that now have ecnl will do just fine no matter how hard you work to discredit them. How do you like your crow served

Sure it does. But not likely. Especially with it being youngerish age groups.

Money, perks, training, little chance for college attention.

If it was darn accurate then it is accurate, was is past tense. Has the numbers changed in the last ten minutes? HMMMMM! The OPL fans will continue to drink that cool aid just as the TA fans drink from their own pool.

I have no doubt ECNL teams will fill the roster just as ODP. We will have to wait for the outcome. Let us pray it is better competition and less politics.

$500 to practice once with the pros! Then the coach will say that can be you some day! No way!

Because you said so. "All In" huh? Lol

You should take 1-2 away from the remaining 8 because more than likely you have people who can't be around you.

                      6 left.

Prepared statement? Doesn't take much to be a bit more logical but I don't expect you to understand that.

Oh and I wasn't taking away from credibility of ecnl as a whole and I probably would have my dd do it for a year but I'm certainly not taking your word for it as you can't seem to say anything besides, "omg it's going to be amazing and I'm so hot for this cony person because anything that doesn't make it sound amazing is just spinning."

You must not get out much.

How did I not see that. You are so right. A few practices vs overpaying to be a doormat.

There is only once choice it seems.

If your daughter is a doormat, she should play for the thorns.

FC Portland and Thusc had a more consistent girls program take away 1-2 age groups but really they have seemed to have a more of the better players club wise. This is a pretty apparent. OSSA put out average girls teams in Oregon and very poor outside of Oregon. This is indisputable.

Thusc + Ossa = if all the best players from those clubs do it. Could make a decent team.

FC Portland = would not make a decent team on their own from any age group if they kept all their best players.

Both groups will not keep even a majority of their players because of the cost. This will be very apparent and with no ability to cover a 7-9k scholarship.

Thorns academy is doing 98/99 age groups? This will pull players away as well. Time will tell if it will be the first choice which moves top players away. But regardless players will go there.

You need at least 36 players between the two teams in each age group but practically speaking to keep costs lower you ll have 40-42.

If you took the best players at each age group you will find the depth is anywhere from 16-20 in the entire state. Let's say 25 to be overly generous.

Take away half for money reasons. Either seeing it as a waste or they just don't have it.

                            13 left.

On Thorns age groups take away 3-5. If it's going to be what they are saying it will, plan on it being 7-10.

                            8 left.

This isn't looking good to fill one team. So let's only take away a third of the players based on cost. Grandparents forked over the bill for one year.

                            So 12 left.

FC Portlands coach likes to recruit hinting that he s interested in average players for UP which is a joke but still take 2-3 players from that 12

                            9 left.

Take away 1 or more because they would rather play discovery with a good club and cheaper costs.

                            8 left.

Now make your ecnl team. This is if non ecnl clubs lose their top players which won't happen.

Again, this is if there is 25 really good players to start out with and you only lose a 1/3 for money reasons and they manage to keep the costs below 8k.

This might have sounded like an amazing idea but I'm glad I'm not yet in a situation where my kid has to be the test run with numbers that do not add up even if you are giving them a big handicap.
Let's be mature for once. This does make sense. Anyone who is really into their kids team pretty much knows there is ONLY enough good players to make ONE good strong team in this area.

I am really considering this for my dd but no one even attempts to refute these numbers. I guess I'll just wait and see but it's the only thing that makes sense so far. For the record I don't think the person writing this seems to be anti ecnl, just practical.

What is to dispute? THUSC already has one team at this level. The entire team will be all over this. You underestimate peoples's willingness to pay for this. I agree that FC will struggle going it alone. THUSC and Crossfire Oregon merging will greatly improve their competitiveness. Look at where these clubs are based. Those families can afford this program.

Your logic is rock solid. Ecnl team needs a manager. That is you!
