One of THE biggest indicators that they did not care about development. Just making money. People blame the timbers for oysa split but it was pretty clear opl didn't know jack about the best standards. Who was In charge of opl at that time?
Again.... THE SAME PEOPLE WHO MADE THOSE DECISIONS FOR THE OPL ARE THE SAME PEOPLE NOW RUNNING THE OYSA!!
Ecnl isn't the future. It is a league that will fracture once the best teams are tired of flying to play bad teams from bad clubs. Its already happening. It isn't about the best clubs or teams anymore. Clubs are struggling to support the ecnl teams and programs so alliances and mergers are now here, once previously a no no.
Just wait and see if a team from Oregon takes an ecnl position, and watch the burden be put on the families and kids to make it work financially with development being an after thought.

Who's the TARD you foolish people.
Mellow out...clearly YOU ONLY type in all caps and insulting everyone you communicate with, but get a life...there were 8 DOCs running the OPL and making decisions...when folks returned back to OYSA just over Half of the DOCs went back and 3 stayed OPL. It is a tired stupid argument to claim that the same people are at fault so it must all be bad...the tires have run thin on that whine...time to come up with something else.
Also please, please have just a smidge of class, I know you are attempting to get attention and be outrageous, but your last comment is so offensive it should get you banned from this site. There are many ways to make the same point without language like that. Just try to have an ounce of class.
Best teams on the west coast, and maybe the country, play 11v11 at U11. Head down to So Cal sometime and check it out...
Introducing 11v11 at u11 is not a bad idea but u11s should not be playing 11v11 exclusively. 11v11 is heavy on tactical play. At u11 tactics should start to be introduced but technical proficiency is not there yet. Therefore, the 11v11 play should be tempered with a good dose of 8v8 as well. I realize that in training there is 4v4, 5v2, 6v6, 4v2 Continuous, etc, but 8v8 should still be played in game situations. Don't put u11s solely in tactical situations in which the only emphasis is winning. If Little Johnny shuns his technical education while a ulittle, Little Johnny doesn't win many games when he gets to be a big kid.

How about best teams in the world...check out Barcalona, Madrid, Bayern, Ajax, PSV, etc...they all play small sided games. It has been proven over and over playing on a small field increases number of touches and improves development.

I don't know if "proven" is the right word. That would mean that it is always the case. I suspect that it is more of a "theory" than a "proof" at this point.

If 8v8 is the correct solution then why is OYSA/Timbers going to 9v9???

Give it a rest. The tard was in response to the other tard user.
The reality you ignorant people keep missing or ignoring is the same people. You justify it any way you can but that is the reality.
There were 8 DOCs. Count how many went back. You desperate attempt to justify splitting youth soccer is unfounded.

Just what we need is another bleeding-heart liberal effort to purge the dictionary of all the perfectly good words that someone might find offensive. Maybe Obama can use an executive order to implement the new Obama-dic...

Just asking fro a higher quality of jerk wad…If Tard is the best you can do, you are really stuck in the second grade. Use some creativity, instead of just sounding like a schoolyard dimwit.
