No post-mortem autopsy necessary. We know the cause of death. R I P

Yes and No. The pressure that will be put on these coaches will be horrific. As much money as these clubs are gonna want yearly, we will require some sort of performance from the team (miracle workers). If the parents of these teams dont like it, they will (and rightly should) complain to have them replaced. Thus leaving them without any team to coach.

Its not like these coaches are going to have their stipend doubled. They might see a bit more due to over night travel, but not nearly enough to warrant the initial pressure.

Its going to take a couple of years for things to shake out (players moving between clubs/OYSA, coaches, out of state players, etc.)

You folks are deluding yourself if the Encl does not give it to the Thorns if the Timbers really want it. TheThorns might not want the Encl because there would be a request that the girls be treated the same as the boys. Since they may not want it, however, they might be motivated to prevent other clubs from getting it.

I still do not see two Encl clubs here unless you pretend to include Crossfire down here. Without the funding for the poorer kids that you see in the Timber DA for the boys, you are not going to be consistently competitive. For the boys, before the Timber DA, FC Portland could not even support one academy team and eventually folded. There were not enough good boys with resources to play. You think we will field two girls teams??? In the past, the girls never did as well as the boys in ODP in terms of produding regional players. The lack of Hispanic girls is one variable that explains the problem. Just my two cents.

Thanks MoreBull for more BS that show that you really do not know what you are talking about.

I thought the post made a lot of sense. No I'm not this bull character but the post was spot on as it will not be the wave of change this coming year that you ecnl campaigners/carpool promoters want people to think. I understand though, you need this for your kid so you are willing to act and talk like an idiot who has little clue besides the discovery experience.

It's like asking republican to be critical of anything...I wouldn't expect you to "understand"

Enjoy the crazy car and keep on that campaign trail!

Just more evidence that girl soccer parents are out of there minds.

Btw I heard from a reliable source that the thorns are getting ECNL. Mums the word.

I actually heard ECNL was going to change their name to LNCE and start doing everything backwards. We better get on board because if ECNL does it it is the way of the future.

ENCL talk comes up every year. Usually around tryout time. It's all smoke and mirrors. Even if it did come most of nothing would change. A few of the best girls, who's parents could afford it would play. Talk of ENCL will disappear again after tryouts.

Also keep in mind that the ECNL is having trouble finding venues for Showcase events. There are not enough fields to hold the number of teams that need to be at each showcase. ECNL is at Max size right now unless they add an additional showcase events which they do not want to do. At this point they will max out at 76-80 clubs and then start to remove clubs as necessary to add others.

This will also make it even harder to qualify, because I am sure as they make the decision to lose and add they will expect the addition to be better than the club they are losing.

Absolutely smoke and mirrors, this has been an ongoing technique of particularly the OPL clubs where promises about programs etc will be made just before tryouts. After tryouts have occurred and teams have been formed all of a sudden those promises fade away...

Not at all unlike all the Timbers promises of Thorns Academy, good competitive leagues, outstanding player development curriculum, etc...
