Crossfire doesn't need THUSC for an ECNL designation. They have fields and resources to handle it by themselves. Oh, and they already have ECNL designation with their Washington Crossfire teams.

This is a case of THUSC realizing they may be on the outside and trying to spin it to their families that they are merging with Crossfire. I don't see this happening in the least.

Maybe I am wrong, but what does THUSC add to Crossfire when Crossfire, on their own, with an ECNL designation can just take their players?

Hey dumb-dumb! Obviously the OR Crossfire club didn't already have ECNL designation or we wouldn't be having the discussion in the first place. But, because WA Crossfire does it makes the integration for the Oregon arm that much easier.

Maybe OR Crossfire and THUSC merge for the ECNL part of things. But, my belief is that THUSC was hoping to either get their own ECNL teams or merge with FC if they were to get it. But, FC hates THUSC and would like nothing more than to wipe them clean away. So, there is zero chance that FC would let THUSC in on things if they are awarded an ECNL designation.

So, if THUSC doesn't get one I can see those folks try to weasel their way into some sort of partnership with Crossfire. Otherwise what are they going to tell their crazy parents who have bought their schtick all of these years.

The point is, if this becomes the case then THUSC needs OR Crossfire waaaaay more than OR Crossfire needs them. That is never a good place to find oneself because you will have zero leverage. So, why wouldn't OR Crossfire just tell them to pack sand and take their players without having to deal with their admin and coaching staff?

I totally agree with you, but there is one little niggling doubt in my head...crossfire Oregon ( formerly known as LOSC, OSSA, etc) have a trend of growth through swallowing other clubs. THUSC would be huge for them because arguably the THUSC brand is bigger, some might suggest the dominance of the THUSC brand is what led OSSA into the arms of crossfire.

Anyways, I'm sure Fraser would like nothing more than to swallow THUSC. It just makes you wonder.

West Side merges with THUSC!!! West Side leaves OYSA, OYSA collapses. Washington Timbers left out in the cold. Eastside doesn't know what to do. All Washington teams are banned from playing in Oregon.

So wish the "banned" part would happen at least for top level teams! So sick of playing in the crap OYSA / OPL leagues would love to get back to better soccer in WA (RCL). Maybe it would be nice to keep our as competitive B/C/D teams in the Oregon leagues so they don't have to travel quite as much but then again Medford / Bend / Eugene is no picnic either. just say'in. I know off topic but just responding.

Keep dreaming. If it happened anything like you are suggesting than why would the ECNL DOC be TA? Sorry but both clubs needed each other for ECNL. Besides clubs will continue to operate as they are now except for the u14 and above ECNL teams.
