Like OYSA/Timbers ODP has not suffered with participants (regardless of the nay sayers here), If the THORNS were to get the bid, it would shift those better players in ODP to those ECNL teams and make room for others to do ODP (watered down even more).
However, with the exception of say one local team (shall remain nameless), It is doubtful that any one club or team would be drastically effected. Overall those teams would suffer with out of state games as their very top talent would be gone, but locally, their league games would probably have the same outcome.
There are only so many spots on a team.

There is ZERO chance of the Thorns or Timbers getting into the ECNL. It isn't going to happen and the speculation is either planted by people trying to confuse their members or just wishful thinking for TA members.

IF this actually did happen what would that really do to the Portland soccer scene if the Thorns got both ENCL spots and no other clubs got any ENCL. Would it change anything? Would it be a good thing? What are your thoughts.

[QUOTE=Unregistered;1217502]I'm not a TA member and I don't see this as a TA thing. I do, however, think that if the Thorns received the ECNL bid that it would be a good thing for the areas top talent. The Thorns will have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better coaching staff and soccer knowledge and they've been together less than a year.[/
Hahahahahh! That's funny!

The 2 previous failed women's professional soccer leagues lasted only 3 seasons each.
ECNL might want to see a year 4 first.
