Quality will always be drawn to THUSC regardless of ECNL. Quality from every club will be drawn to ECNL regardless of who gets it. The club or clubs that land the ECNL bid will see their club status rise also.

Seems like you are attaching every hope you have to this one thing…Just a note of caution, that usually doesn't work out very well. When you expect that much it will usually not meet your expectations.

Crossfire, FC and THUSC will have to cover their costs through player fees. They may come up with a sponsor or two but their's would be a player funded program. Will a Thorn's program require the same? They don't have such a structure for the Timbers DA. The boys pay about $500 max for the year. The agenda for the Thorns as a DA is similar to that of the Timbers. What are they willing to do for homegrown talent and building a stronger women's soccer culture in Oregon? The Thorns are selling a lot of popcorn, jerseys and tickets. There are other ways to justify supporting an ECNL program.

I just don't know where to begin with this. So I'm not going to try. (sigh)

I'm not the poster you're responding to, but it could be through the Timbers Alliance, not a specific club, similar to the DA on the boys side. I do not know if the TA is even interested in that route, but it would be silly to suggest they cannot put together terrific Alliance teams that would do well in ECNL. (BTW, I have seen the ECNL teams at ECNL events approx. 15 times over the past four years, at various ages.)

You're assuming of course that the MLS & NWSL aren't in discussions with the ECNL about operating their "girls" programs thru an ECNL league structure.
Makes sense for the MLS/NWSL to tap into an existing successful league platform. Also makes sense for the ECNL to consider. Aligns ECNL with professional soccer and removes potential competitor.

MLS/NWSL have bigger problems to deal with then aligning with ECNL. Oregonians have perpetual problems. One is they think that everyone in the country and world has eyes on them..... NEWSBREAK - THEY DON'T - THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO OR WHERE YOU ARE ON THE MAP AND NOR DO THEY CARE. So why do you think your mighty Timbers/Thorns are the end all ?? they are far from it. They will not nor have they even tried to get ECNL membership. Because unlike most Oregon Country folk, they understand the world does not revolve around them.

I hear from a reliable source that the TA is going to merge with the rest of the country and form a SUPER TA and since everyone knows the Timbers and the MLS this does make sense. They can operate it under an ECNL type structure and everyone can have an MLS patch. All of the kids will be PREMIERE almost over night. This makes total sense, because well I'm an Oregonian.
