Maybe if they throw in a $400.00 gas card for the season.

Eugene.. my kid plays NPL U12 and we have 4 home games and 10 away. Thanks a lot OPL. Our club has been with OPL from the beginning and the OPC still treats us like second class citizens. Happy to return to OYSA where fairness is a basic value for all.

You should be used to it.

That's the way it is in Oregon with everything, politics and all. When 70 percent of the population lives in Portland Metro area, that's just the way it goes. Sorry about your luck. I wish I could live elsewhere but I have to consider travel time.

Yeah. Eugene. Population 350,000. Portland. Population 2.3 million. Right, everything in life should be equal, fair and balanced. Dude, share the world man.....

Who cares about what Eugene does- EVER? Your backward burg has ZERO influence. Go watch a Ducks game, or dance around with Ken Kasey at the Country Fair and shut it.

We are talking about youth soccer. And, yes... organizations that run youth soccer leagues should treat all teams fairly. This is not idealistic or unrealistic.

OYSA is starting to sound very socialistic to me.

And what exactly do you think is fair? 6 home games for you? 7 ? 8 ? Hell, why don't we all just move to Eugene and make it "fair" for you.

If what is being posted is correct OPL will be filled with Crossfire, FCP, Thusc, some BSC and thats about it. What type of league is that?
                          a sucky one

The voters of the USA seem to prefer that.

The Timbers have established six Regional Training Centers across their development territory, located in the cities of Beaverton, Bend, Eugene/Salem, Gresham, Medford and Vancouver, Wash. The Regional Training Centers serve as one of the major components of the MLS club’s vertically integrated development system, and are the hubs for the Timbers’ pre-academy teams as well as Oregon’s boy’s and girl’s ODP teams, which are overseen by OYSA, for youth players ages U-12 to U-15.

A list of clubs that have already stepped up to support the new partnership include: Bend FC Timbers, Cascade Futbol Club, Eastside Timbers, Eugene Timbers, Hillsboro Soccer Club, Portland City United, Rogue Valley Timbers, Santos, Washington Timbers, Westside Timbers and Woodburn AFC.

Who does that leave out, and who would they play?
Everyone that plays soccer looses because the competition is diluted! Every parent that will driving or flying looses. I love how everyone is trying to make themselves look good by bashing the other side. I have a daughter wearing Adidas and will miss playing THUSC, FC, and Crossfire because they are good and much better than Eugene, Bend, or Rogue Valley. I also have a daughter who wears the swoosh and will miss the games against Eastside, VT, and Westside because they too have been formidable opponents

It could also be a field space issue since EMFC plays all of their home games on the two fields at Lane. With 2 teams in each age group, the fields could be all used up. Every time we are in Eugene there are games before and after our games.

At 14's half of the games are at home for EMFC for both the A and B teams.

I don't think people have much of an issue going to Eugene if the fields were available. Medford and Bend are a different story.
