Points? Huh? This isn't futbol americane Jethro, you have become confused. Read a book, try "Welcome to Soccer: An idiots guide to the Beautiful game".

When your team gets a goal, they receive a point. Same concept as Basketball, you make a basket and you get points.

I have never heard someone relay a basketball score as 45 baskets to 23 baskets.

COPA has plenty of athletes on that team. They might be less athletic than a couple teams but that's about it. They will make their run, and when they do it will be because of skill AND athleticism. It's nice to have both.

Of course not. Because unlike a goal in soccer which can be one point, a "basket" can mean 1, 2, or 3 points. THAT's why you never heard that.

let me know what else you need help with. I'm here to help.

Wrong. Flat. Out. Wrong. A goal is a goal and is scored as such and referred to as A GOAL. Points, completely not associated with scoring directly, are tied to wins, losses or draws. Its tallied as Goals per game, not points per game. Points are used to separate teams win, loss, draw variance to sort and rank team fixtures. A goal is a goal, is scored as such in Soccer stats. Period.

So to restate for those so challenged by just the slightest difference in vocabulary...

When you win the reason is ... You score more goals.
When you lose the reason is ... you score less goals.

Hopefully that is semantically acceptable to everyone...

So help me out, I understand how this works league wise, and it is great for the top players who have the opportunity to always play in a top game.

Just two questions, first why not just create an A side and a B side, and have them play at the appropriate level? Second, what happens when we get to State Cup or some other competition that requires fixed rosters? Are the top kids consolidated and the rest just bumped off to the side?

Because it looks better for the club if two teams are in premier. And when that wasn't working out well they do what they always do and double roster players. Works out great for those that get more playing time but not so much for those in the bench. Copa will take all the best players come State Cup time and Samba will be left with those who sat the bench all season.

Can others verify this is really going on, or is this just the CFC guy stirring the pot again? With the timing of the games on Sunday, the Copa players could have made both.

There were no COPA players on the field yesterday against Xfire. Please do not assume things that are not ture.

There are dozens of messages on this forum about how important it is for the kids to play against the best competition they can. Then if a team plays better players down there is about the same number of posts complaining that it's unfair. Which is it? If your kid isn't on the team that is moving players back and forth, why do you care? If it's a problem for the team or club moving players isn't it their problem to sort out?

There were Copa players on Samba and Samba players on Copa. I don't see the big deal since its all one club. Nothing wrong with one of our teams helping out another.
