People Please

EMFC parent. I can't believe people are complaining about Salmon Creek having an unfair advantage because they played a girl up. She's a good player, scored a nice goal but doesn't make or break the Salmon Creek team (in my opinion). Even if she did (I've only watched the one game) how on earth can people complain about a younger player giving them an unfair advantage? Play her up all the time, makes for a good game and better competition. Honestly I would rather see the best team a club has to offer on the field. If LO has 8th grade exceptions that's great, makes them stronger, better game, better competition, more exciting league play. Who cares how many teams within the club these kids play for.

It's flattering if other clubs or parents think beating your club is a big deal. Look forward to the next match. I really don't get all this drama.

I only care about my daughter having fun and competing. I don,t care if they are 12,13,14, or 15, hell I think half of FC PDX is 12 or 13. Just sit down, shut the F up and enjoy your daughters soccer.

Why can't you just have one season where you stay off of these boards?

I agree that the club was fully within the rules. However, I would be very upset if my daughter were on that team. My daughter is good, but I have no expectations of her being the next Abby Wambach. I put her in soccer so she can learn work ethic, the value of a team, gain self esteem, and improve her fitness and soccer skills. Although winning is fun, I could care less if she is on a winning team as long as she is learning these skills.

When a coach or club chooses to ignore its own team to bring in girls just to win a game, the girls on the team are not benefiting from it.

Wrong. Name one coach who sits players to let their kid play so they might win a league game? Actually name one who sat good kids so they could cheat last year to win a league game. Sorry but its wrong and some of us have been affected.
