It seems the way the soccer world works, much more value is placed on tournaments and cups. They basically use league play to determine who plays in NWCL and other regional play. In Oregon (and I believe other states), state champs are determined by tournaments, not league play. So it's hard to take away FC's accomplishments of winning two state cups in a row. I don't buy this idea that FC uses fall OPL season for developmental. That club is all about winning and will do anything to add another notch to their resume of winning OPL or State Cup so they can parade it on their website or at their parents meetings. They want the division title as much as the other clubs.
FCSC (and Vancouver in general) produce good teams. But I have trouble understanding or relating with the parents in these clubs. I don't know if there is a complex or a feeling of being disrespected, but there seems to be a lot of disgruntled and upset people when it comes to Vancouver.
Should be a fun and interesting fall season. I like the fact there is no dominant team . . . I see it as five very competitive teams at this age group all having a chance to be league champs and/or state champs in 2014.

It such a dumb idea that I suspect it is someone pretending to be an FC parent to try and make FC parents look stupid.

No one is buying that FC uses fall league play to develop and I can't believe some parents are trying to push this.

I guess you are smarter than everyone involved at FC. That Vantucky moonshine has u at top of your class. Well done!

Most quality clubs focus on development for league play. Sure they care about NWCL and will focus on winning what they need to, but with the top three-four teams in this age group, there are plenty of games to focus on development. Obviously, no club would use state cup for development, so your analogy makes no sense other than you are grasping at straws trying to make them look bad. Why not just lay out what your beef is with them?
We've been playing FCP for years and we know when they want to bring it, they will, and I hold my breath every time we play them (2 age groups).

If it is for development (like spring league is) why don't they make 3 teams like spring league so every player get lots of playing time? Explain to me how having 18 on a team every game and telling some of the players they can't play that weekend because they have no spots left on the bench is developing players? The answer: Fall is not about development but about winning league. Winter and Spring are about development and that is why FC does things differently in the spring than in the fall.
FC is a solid club, one of the best in the area, but stop with the we lose because we are developing BS. It's a tough league with some really good teams, FC, like any other team, can lose even thought they are trying to win.
