    Grant over Gresham

Jesuit will beat anyone, including Tualatin in the Semi's

    Finals: Grant vs Jesuit

Rough play is learned in club soccer long before the kids even get to high school so I wouldn't be to rough on the coach. It's up to the officials to police the game and not the coach.
Our club team doesn't play rough and I don't see any teams in our leagues play rough. The refs don't allow it. No, the OC coach is well known for teaching a style that prevents the 5-0 beatings.

Yep in the final minuet of getting a 4-2 beating (which was 4-0 before the subs came in) his players just kick the other girls in the head! Real class act those OC ladies reeeeaaaallllll classy!

I don't see Grant making it that far. Look at their league. Any tough opponent they either lost or tied. Jesuit, Tigard, Tualatin. Then a late season loss to Lincoln? I don't see them getting past Sunset's defense.

I don't see Sheldon making it that far, Grant beat them comfortably. Can't argue the rest.

              I'll go with:

              Tigard vs West Salem
              Grant vs Sunset
              Tualatin vs Sheldon
              Lincoln vs Jesuit

              Tigard vs Sunset
              Tualatin vs Jesuit

              Tigard vs Jesuit

Defense wins championships and Jesuit has the best defense.

But Sunset has allowed fewer goals than Tigard.

I don't know what the OC coach teaches but after watching 10 years of girls club soccer I have seen no end of teams that play very rough. As far as the refs not allowing it in club I see the same refs doing the HS games as the club games so I don't buy it.

Only difference I see between club and HS physical play is the size differences in HS can make it worse than club. If you get a senior with 40+ lbs running into a freshman it can be ugly. You can see some huge size and strength differences between a senior and freshman even on the girls side.

My point of reference is the TRL where almost every player on the field is a club player anyway.

If you catch them with a ref who allows lots of contact early, then it only progresses during the game and OC can keep it tight. That is likely why Sunset only beat them 2-0. Calling the game tight would have allowed Sunset's more dominant skills and athleticism to shine and the game would have been 5 or 6 to zero. OC's coach should not be allowed to coach and should be disciplined by OSAA.
I'm wondering what credence we should give to you and your eagle eyes when you refer here to the harmful way HE coaches his players.. O.C. has been coached by a WOMAN (and now this year, two women co-head coaches) for at least 5 years now.

Most of the OC HS players may have played club years ago but certainly don't now.

I don't see what you are seeing. The difference between HS and club is huge, in terms of rough play. Everyone says Cali teams play rough. Not close to some of the hard play I saw this year.

Terrible call by the ref. Make the teams earn it. And in reality, that decided the game. You have to let the play on the field determine the game. Just another example of bad officiating. In our playoff game, we actually had some decent officiating. We were due, after 4 games of crummy officiating. I heard about the "magic ball" call against Tualatin a couple of weeks ago. A ball defied physics in the refs opinion. We played Tigard this year and if all WV can do is get two shots on PKs, then Tigard wins in a rout.
I also didn't have a dog in the fight and wasn't at the game. I only saw the video. Kudos to the ref for having the junk to call two deserved PKs against the same team. Many refs wouldn't have the courage. Too bad for West Linn who I hear is probably the better team, but those were fouls. The referee not calling them would have been determining the outcome. A 'no call' is also a decision and carries equal weight to calls made. This is why players are coached to get in the box. It limits a defenders options, and West Linn apparently didn't realize this.

My biggest source of entertainment on this site is reading idiot's comments on teams and games they know nothing about. Shame on you for taking away that joy by shutting one of them up!!!!!

While I agree defense wins championships, but if I use that logic, it will be Sunset vs Jesuit in the finals since Tigard's defense has allowed more goals. Frankly, I believe a Sunset/Jesuit final would be more exciting because they are more evenly matched and because I don't believe Tigard's defense could hold off Jesuit's potent attack. I would rather see a 1-0 win versus a 3-0 win any day. My 2 cents.
