One bad game and they are going to all give up. That seems a little ridiculous. We all know how these types of games go. A couple of goals go in and all of a sudden one team can't do anything right and the other team scores every shot. It happens.

I think they are familiar with FC. They seem to like THUSC and CU. I don't think their families get to caught up in wins and loses at u13. Team is in a good place. Great kids who enjoy playing together.

After the first four teams in gold it's pretty pointless. Now I know why the OPL 'cul-de-sac' league was created. The rest of those teams in Gold only represent wasted time and money on traveling, that could have been better spent.

Maybe if it was just Gold playing in State Cup, but THUSC and FCP both barely got by CFC, 2-1, TT appears to have handled them no problem, 5-0, so I wouldn't get too cocky.

Looks like WUSC and TT should have been placed in Gold. Seems like WUSC got the shaft. And yes we all know that TT did too. The addition of the WUSC, LOSC and THUSC girls next year should make a formidable CU team.

You do realize that at U14 that ECNL thingy hits and every team you play is at least as good as WST, some better, some much better. If the team is losing 9-3 now, things are going to get REALLY ugly next year. It seems the local ECNL teams don't fully get this ECNL thingy. You see, you have to be competitive at U11-U13 locally and showing improvement each year so that you hit U14 running and with a team that has a number of players who have played together. You can't hit U14 praying that a bunch of players come over from other teams to help you get competitive. One, that might not happen and Two, you don't want to be integrating all of those players in a year where you are expected to be competitive. ECNL doesn't want you to get to competitivness as a team at U16 or U17. They expect it at U14. Teams will have losing records and ECNL knows this, but they don't want teams who have losing records and -60 GD after 10 games. If you are getting crushed game after game, then you are negating many of the benefits that ECNL is supposed to provide. You don't get better with a bunch of 9-3 losses. You get a demoralized team is what you get.

Yes I agree with your last point. Good players gravitate to good players. That is why when they get older they gravitate to CU. Good point.

Eugene is on an upswing, currently in 2nd, and preparing to beat TT and Wusc for first place. The rest of their games are gimmies. TT shouldn't be so cocky either. A lot of changes since last match up.
