The top Seattle teams are in the same league as the local ECNL Teams. That's why top talent is playing ECNL.

As are the top NorCal teams, and the top Denver teams. There is no higher level league than ECNL for youth girls soccer.

I would explain it like this: Look at Crossfire Premier out of Seattle. They typically have a pool of 25+ kids at each age level. Their more successful teams had a minimum of 18 D1 committed athletes. To me " filler" is a player that could not make a pool for Crossfire Premier. Guarantee you there are players on the Oregon ECNL teams that would not have made the ODP pools in the past and certainly would not have landed as a starter on the A team.

Everyone else is filler. Some of the filler may be highly skilled but lacking athleticism needed to out perform at the higher levels. Others may be very fast but lack skill. Filler doesn't mean they are bad kids or unworthy of play somewhere it simply means they are NOT elite and only playing in the league because a minimum number of players is needed and without them they cannot field a team.

Having said that, I guarantee you that much of the filler would be replaced if some of the higher level TA girls decided they wanted to play on an ECNL team. Truth be told some parents are more grounded than others and actually understand when little Suzy is not even the star of an average good team so they choose not to endure the expense and inconvenience of playing as filler on an ECNL team. Other less grounded parents come on to sites like this and ramble on about how much better their kid's team, club, league is.

The parents of the highest level players are disappointed and wish that Oregon would consolidate so that their child could play much closer to their potential.

Nobody is saying that the elite club league is any better than anything else. It's just a fun travel league if you have $1000 per month to invest and money on top to travel with your kid.

Nobody said it wAs better. It's just a league and the teams from Oregon have not done well.

If you don't mind losing and have lot of money to spend its fun.

At 2001 only 1/3 of the top talent is playing in the EclubLeague.

              Lots of rich kids.

Funny math guy again. He thinks his "B" team DD makes up 2/3 of the talent in Oregon...

I'm not an ECNL lover nor am I a hater, but you can't pull numbers out of your ass and expect people to believe it.

FCP already has the #2 OR ranked team per last planet. From picking through the gibberish posted on T/S they will end up about 30% new top talent from some of their old competitors and some play ups. Meanwhile, CU will be merging talent from about 3 very good teams and once they have spent some time together will undoubtedly be formidable as well.

Will there be stragglers remaining at their old clubs, yes. But not 70%. The proof will be in the pudding. We will see in a year what the results will be.

True. Meanwhile the B team promise ensures that Oregon teams get smacked. The talented girls on Oregon teams are tethered to the weak link of the less skilled/athletic players thereby relegating them to the same style of soccer that afflicts many of Oregon's most talented... the entire team expecting the couple of good players to carry them, crazy jealous parents who get offended when the star of the team actually has something other than getting their ass kicked to do. You and those like you are the problem. As long as your daughter can be called elite you will never see the obvious.

The only people who dispute this are the ECNL Marketing Team that patrol this chatroom 24/7.

Most of the talent in Oregon can't spend $1,000 per month for EclubLeague.

It was a mess at older ages in the first year. Hopefully they turn it around.

I hear what you are saying and think you are coming across too harsh for people to try and understand. There were times this past season (ECNL) that were close to humiliating. Our team was not able to give other teams a good game. My daughter is a very good player and could play on any of those teams. I just dropped her off at college. She will be okay and will get to play a better style of soccer. Playing against the best when you are getting clocked and the other team is pulling their best players and still beating you up is not any different than even a TA team going up against them. All Oregon teams would get stomped It would have been nice if she could have played with more players that were like her. The better ECNL teams have a whole team of individuals like my daughter. She only got one year of Oregon ECNL and had there been more years to fill we may have chosen a different route such as playing on any team and discovery play elsewhere. She was actually approached but we thought it would be too difficult to travel and all that but it was difficult anyway and with no improvement in the level of play from our previous team.

And the only people who believe your TA marketing BS are the TA lemmings whose DD's couldn't make an ECNL team if their life depended on it.

But around 70% of the top talent appear to be able to afford the $500 per month that is the real cost of a full year of ECNL.

Don't listen to the jokers that come on here saying its $10k to play. Don't get me wrong it is expensive. We were lucky to be able to afford the $8800 for my DD to play for the '00's
