Right now encl is getting a fraction of the best players. 40% maybe.
Keep believing that. If you look at age groups with ECNL in Oregon, around 80% of the top players in the Portland area are on the ECNL teams.

There are 12000 college spots open each year. You do not need ecnl to get a good education
Might want to do a little more research. If you have internet in your trailer park.

Why waste a bunch of money? If your daughter is good, she should pick where she wants to go. Not trolling around and hoping some college coach will pick her.
If you're not on an ECNL team you likely won't get into the showcases where the college coaches are. Face it, ECNL is the place to be. Stay away at your own risk.

Precisely. That's why the Timbers clubs never advertise who went to college from their U18 teams - mostly because they don't even have girls HS teams...

You don't need to waste $10,000 / year. The coaching isn't any better.

-interesting this board preaches you don't play soccer to get a college scholarship
-don't play on an ecnl team= don't get to have a good opportunity for a "decent" college to play for
              -ecnl costs $$$$
-might as well put your money in savings for college
              - no ecnl-no play in college

              kind of a vicious cycle

                30% is more accurate.

Anybody with enough cash can go to college. Very few will get to play soccer in college. ECNL + cash can greatly increase your odds of playing soccer in college.

80%+ at G01 this year. It'll be similar at G02 next spring.

If you are a good player then there is no reason to join ECNL until at least U15 or later (high school). Not many D1 signings in middle school.

80% of top players aren't doing the EVNL? That seems high.

I think about a third of the top players are doing encl.

What a waste of time. We are sending our daughter to a European club academy as a U15 instead. College just slows development.
