Dream on. Girls are leaving TA clubs in droves. Close to 200 in the last year at WashT alone.

There's more talent at timbers alliance clubs right now. It's growing too.

By then the Timbers patch and foam finger kind of wear off.

          That made me laugh.

I think both leagues are fairly equal honestly.

The OPL isn't that bad. It's not the best but kids enjoy playing there so mind your own business.

Hows the gu12 group doing? Anyone on the team think things are great or is this team going to fall apart like alot of other wt*c teams?

It already started to fall apart. Only 7 returning players from U11. And now there are several more planning to leave in the spring. WT_FC has nothing above U12 on the girls side and soon they may have nothing at all...

We are with OPL club because it's lower key. That's what my dd wants. More interested in sleepovers and doing their hair at this point.

Very fragile. 11 maybe 12 premier players and then 4-5 who share the bench. If a few strong players bolt, not sure where this team would draw new players from. New coach will be coming on again next year. That might help determine who stays.

Of all the many ridiculous aspects of Oregon youth soccer, nothing is more pathetic than parents bizarre loyalty towards their leagues and their need to tear down the other "side".

They both suck and the fact the leagues are divided is indefensible. Hate them both, or neither, but for gods sake quit defending either of them.

You can help fix the split by moving your kid from your TA club to an OPL club. We know which league will still be around in a few years, and it won't be the Timbers. The shine's already worn off that apple.

completely and totally agree, makes zero sense, I certainly didn't pick a league when I picked my kids club, I picked a coach that seemed like the best fit who happened to be at the club who happened to be in a certainly league and is now part of a different league.

do you get a kick back for saying OPL is great?

Thanks for proving my point that insane youth sports parents are nonsensical.

All three of my kids are in an OPL club and I don't think there is a lick of difference between the two leagues. They are just freaking leagues and both watered down versions, in an already sketchy state.

In every single post you could substitute TA for OPL and vice verse and there would be no difference at all. It boils down to:

"My people that I overpay for what I get, could totally beat up the people you overpay for what you get!"

How do you expect to get scholarship with that mentality??
