I totally agree but would argue that most girls teams in OR & Couv don't develop players so much as rely on whatever talented athletes they have getting better by playing a lot. The more naturally talented players a particular team has usually leads to more wins. Then "win hungry" parents switch their naturally talented players to the more winning teams. True that bigger clubs with histories of their players getting into college or elite programs often benefit by that rep even when they didn't necessarily develop (but merely recruited) those top players. Until we as parents demand player development with our wallets, doubt things will change. The Ecnl clubs (like FC) may now benefit even more from players coming to their club for the opportunity to play ecnl - not necessarily because they develop players better adding more fuel to the fire.

Just seems kind of odd to me. Especially since they lost to that same Washington timbers team. Riight now in no specific order it seems CFC, Westside and Washington timbers are all the top 3 teams at the moment. (all TA teams for that matter) and it takes more players going to FC for them to crack that. Way to have confidence in your ability to develop talent.

For us the main reason we would move to thusc or fc from our ta club is the relationship those clubs have with colleges. And the track record. Our club is developing just fine. They just have little experience with sending kids to the next level.

Oddly enough CFC and FC played last spring to a draw. With FC's new influx of talent it appears CFC came out stronger. Did CFC also get a new look?

Thusc maybe. Fc p no way. Fc p used to develop and now it's all a smoke and mirrors used car salesman recruiting from clubs who develop players. Fc p development is based around recruitment because you'll find the majority who have started and stayed are seriously lacking.
Mediocre development and hard recruiting equals illusion of development for stupid parents.
