But seriously, 12 - 0 ? What's that prove exactly? At the half tell the girls to connect 10 passes and then they can only score on volley's or headers. Do they hand out bigger medals if you win by double digits? I know, I know, got to keep the pedal down.... the state cup is coming up.
Whatever, this is a dick move.

FCP 02 G Navy
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostAs if they weren't deep enough in talent, it looks like FCP02 is going to score even more talent. Versus the addition of Gaby from Israel, these girls appear to be "imports" from SoCal. I saw 2 new girls from the Surf Soccer Club at practice on Wednesday. I assume they're from Surf Club as one was wearing a Surf hoody and the girls were referring to the other one as "Surfy Surf."

Can anyone objectively name the top 5 clubs a player should be looking at for true development? I would appreciate it and not just a list but something the club may offer that sets it apart. Many parents on here are looking to see. With all the club bashing it is hard to tell which clubs really have decent programs.

Everyone will say they have the best program or they will say one program stinks because they may have had some personal experience that tainted their opinion of that club. I would personally observe at least three training sessions incognito without notifying the coach. Just watch and observe and talk to the parents of the players. This will be a lot of work, but it's worth it if soccer is important to your family. In my experience, the majority of the coaches are focused on the tactical aspects of the game, so they develop a good game intelligence for the players because they are focused on producing a winning team. Lots of possession soccer, lots of work on set pieces, etc. If you want real technical training and ball mastery work for your kid, you need to pay for a personal trainer. Coaches here tend to focus on team work rather than individual development. At the end of the day when the player is trying out for high school or college teams, he/she will be trying out alone, without his/her team. Hope this helps.

Top 5 clubs

This club strongly encourages kids to personally train outside the "Normal" practices. They are also affiliated with the University of Portland. They teach the same skills and trainings as the university. The coaches will also link boys or girls up with players from U of P to train individually.
Another good club to look at would be THUSC. However, there have been a lot of changes going on within the club. My knowledge of it being good or bad is not reliable enough to bank on it. But solid reputation as well.
FYI- just been ckng out FC myself these last weeks and I've been both impressed with coach and parents. It pays to watch and talk to both. Apparently, there were several of us newbies ckng their U11G out seems the "Hot" spot for now .. Maybe it is all the Onyx talk. Lots of strong players there

Take the sales messages here with a grain of salt.
The two times I visited practices to "check them out" I was greeted with thinly veiled hostility. Maybe not hostility, but definitely not welcoming. If you have a potential first team player/starter they all want to know what position they play. Meaning someone is going to get bumped, I hope its not my kid. Or a kid that is friends with my kid.
Many of the posts here on this board recommending a team are from a coach or DOC trying to recruit. So take them with a grain of salt.
