After watching them I was confused. Did I happen to just catch a "good" game, because they were looking to pass far more than the other teams we have played. They scored 5 goals on us and only 1 was a breakaway. 3 of their goals came off crosses and finishes and 1 came off a long shot. They were switching the ball to their outside back who was then attacking out of the back and finding the midfielders feet, who then were finding forwards feet. Like I said maybe I just happened to catch a good game, but I was pretty impressed.
Could not tell you on that one. Games that I have seen they rely on a lot on through balls to forwards. I guess the league standings might give some insight.

Seems like the Eastside team and Thusc teams seem to be most consistent of play (based on scores with no real blowouts either for or against).

I don't think the poster was disrespecting ***C. Reading the post throughout this summer and following the thread there was so much talk about how the ***C team was in a league of their own and now seeing in league play how teams are competing makes you wonder what was the truth. I guess beginning of summer was 3 months ago. Things do change in 3 months.

As for the Crossfire game, perhaps a ***C parent could fill us in on the details of that game and how ***C was able to place 3 in the net against Crossfire. Perhaps the past post are inaccurate about relying only on the forwards to score the majority of goals on breakaways?

Well I can't go into too much detail but I can tell you that the forward everyone is mentioning didn't score any of the 3 goals against Crossfire.

I am curious to see how injuries may change the rest of league. I have watched enough years to know becuase of week after week of playing injuries start to show up more and more. Will start to show what teams have more depth.

***C has two really fast forwards and if one does not score the other one does on most through balls. So, I take it might have been other one?

Agree, when injuries occur depth of team does play big role. Will be interesting.

VFC won one on girls side and so did Eastside. Best girls team at U14 is Washington Timbers. Get your facts straight. TA or other doesn't really matter, just do what's correct for you family and kid.

These THUSC, FC pdx, and ossa people want so desperately to stay relevant. They are blinded to reality. I don't even care really. Enjoy the slow ride down. It's happening right before your eyes. Change is making you crazy.

Just stating the facts! If that's stupid then I'm dumb as a stumo, but your TA team still didn't win and my kids did. Better luck next time........or not. Truth hurts I know.

If you want to talk facts then lets talk facts. Lets look at last year Gu11-Gu14, you said FC Portland, Thusc, and OSSA won everything.

                      OPL champions:
                      Gu11: FC Portland
                      Gu12: Eastside
                      Gu13: EMFC
                      Gu14: Thusc

                      OPL State cup
                      Gu11: CFC
                      Gu12: Eastside
                      Gu13: FC Portland
                      Gu14: Thusc

Okay so we have 4 different age groups, with 4 different clubs, and if im not mistaken aren't EMFC joining Timbers? Plus the group of 3 "clubs" that you named, only won 2 of those 4 age groups. So you want to re word when you said they won ALL the girls age groups?

CFC is also going OYSA. And yes Eugene is Timbers.

What I note from this list is not only 1 current TA club. I don't think you can count EMFC as a TA club yet so I don't think you can count them in as developing a team. Looks like maybe Eastside figure things out but, not Westside or ***C.

***C is in Washington and generally play in Washington league's. Dont know why 02 plays in Oregon. Maybe they didnt think it good to travel that much at this age. Washinton teams do not play in our state cup.

As it has been said over and over, WSM, WSMTS and Eastside may have a strong team at u11-u13 on the girls side the reality is the best teams are THUSC, FCPDX, and OSSA/Crossfire when it matters.

                              State Cup 2013 Girls Champions.
U14G Tualatin Hills United SC Onyx
                              U15G WT G97 Copa
                              U16G Crossfire Oregon 96 Blue I
U17G Tualatin Hills United SC United Sodium
U18GFC Portland Academy 1994 Girls Navy

And if you look at winter league NPL for all those Age groups(u16018), the best a TA team (Current or Future) placed was 3rd. And if you look at Fall U14 WSMTS finished 2nd and that team saw the majority of its best players leave for THUSC and FCPDX at tryouts in August.

Very few (< 10%) ***C teams play in RCL. Other than HS boys, most play OPL or PML. HS boys play RCL due to the different HS soccer season in WA.

***C has never been allowed to play in OPL State Cup but may be allowed to play for OYSA State Cup in future.
