How does the OPL determine which U11 teams get to play in the Premier division. I know Beaverton tourney is the play-in for NWCL but what about OPL Fall league play Premier division? Also, anyone know about when Fall OPL schedules come out? Sorry, first year for my oldest who is U11 and wondering what the scoop is.

Typically its decided by the DOC's of the clubs and recommendations. They can use summer results to help their case on why their team should be in premier division. In my opinion this should be the 8 teams in premier division (In no specific order, and this isn't just results based, but also based on play style and ability of the team. Personally if you only can get 2 shots off and get a lucky win that doesn't mean you should be in the premier division)

Of course I might be missing some, and I've seen the majority of these teams play. I think you will get your premier league off this list.

In my opinion this should be the 8 teams in premier division

History is they take 12...
End of fall they keep the top 8 in premier
Bottom 4 move to the "New" Div 1
Top 4 from previous Div 1 stay (gives 8 in the new div1 - could take more depending on the senario)
rest are jumbled through..

Last fall GU11 had 9 teams in Premier. the year before that there were 12. Depends a lot on the quality of the teams and how badly the DoCs want a team in Premier. Some are more honest about it than others...

Thank you for all the info! I think my kid's team will be in Premier then - both based on skill of players (prob top 8 team) and also desire of DOC! When have Fall schedules been posted in the past??

DoCs will have them to review in early August. They will be posted mid-August.

What team is your Daughter on? Might be able to tell you if its a good spot for them

I do not think ***C is a definite yet. They did not look as good as suppose to be.

Okay I have watched a lot of teams so far, so Honestly I got to hear the reasoning why? Yes their defense still needs some work, but they haven't lost to a team in oregon in the last 9 months and finished top 4 in Washington (which if you know premier soccer Washington is far stronger than Oregon) So even if they finally lose 1 or 2 games, what makes them a non automatic? they have already beaten this year EMFC, Westside TS, FC portland, Thusc. All four of those teams are possible OPL Premier teams, so how do you call them a questionable team when they haven't lost to anyone yet?

I get your probably with FCSC but come one, at least be realistic. At least I was when I ranked the teams earlier.

I have watched a lot of teams too including this one. Nope, defense needs a lot of work. and I think you noted that too. They will not dominate as much as one thinks.

I agree they will have some rough games because of their defense, but with their track record this summer there is nothing that has happened that would say they aren't a lock.

They have an achilles heal with the defense. They don't recovery well when dealing with the average "boot ball team". Boot ball is ugly soccer but, a goal is a goal. From what I have seen only one fast girl in back. If another team has a fast front line and boots ball up they will be in trouble. Their wings not to strong either when up against strong girls. Loose a lot of 1v1 from one of the previous games I watched and they don't come back to support defense which only adds to the defense issue on team. It only takes one boot ball team to knock them out of the NWCL.
