copats & cfc are both great teams. Cfc is doing somehing right at younger ages -their gu12s are rocking it too! I hope ***c 02s get their act back together...the more great teams, the better! It gets boring if there are only two really good teams.

A number of the best players on top teams in Portland at older ages (girls) are players from Salem/silverton/Dallas/etc. they are now keeping those players.

I don't have a child on this team, but anytime I read a comment like this I think "wow, somebody is upset that their child isn't as good as they think they are" In all honesty these comments are usually a delusional parent who thinks their daughter/son is a top player when in all reality they are lucky to be on the team.

We played this team in fall and I was impressed. After reading the comments here I went and looked at their spring and realized they lost to 2 teams, which from what I can figure out in 2 seasons they have lost to a combined 2 teams? It would be nice if my daughters team could say that. Makes me feel a little better though because now when a few parents complain on our team I can tell them that parents complain on every team.

I think that your statement is correct for most part. I think though if your top players are contacting other clubs (the girls who start) then there might be something more going on.

Any insight about FC Portland White team, the 2nd team?

Anyone have insight about FC Portland's white team, the 2nd team? They seem to be a third tier team - not in the top 16 of the state in rankings for U12 right now. Would love to know before tryouts in spring, just in case my daughter doesn't make the navy 1st team.

Teams aren't "set" at tryouts at FCP. The rosters are fluid thoughout the year as kids develop. For example the G01 Navy team has had 28 different girls on the roster this year, out of a pool of 36. Those who work hard and improve will be given chances on the Navy team.

I would be really curious to know how many games those players got. How many got called up for 1 game. How many of those were for 1 summer tournament where half the top girls were missing? Would love it if there were actual stats.

Our team had a true A team and a true B team this year and we had a total of 22 different players play on the A team throughout the year just using guest players. And of that 20 players played 5+ games on the A team.

Is Mike de Pinna, coach for this age group, fair and objective? Does he give every individual player an opportunity to develop and earn their spot based on merit? Or is his coaching wrought with favoritism and political leanings?

Am I the only one that thinks it sounds like there is 1 person who is not only constantly blowing up FCP but also now asking and answering their own questions? Kind of making them look sad right now. If they weren't worried about this age group they wouldn't be going over the top to try and recruit right now.

CFC has some girls that were playing up with the G2001 teams red/black.

Several of them are really good. But they already had some excellent players and the coach is very good.

Who is the coach and can I get some info about the coach? Checking into a team for my daughter in that area.
