A player moved out of town and it dropped them to 13 players. He tries to use at least 1 player from the B team whenever possible to get back to 14 players. At NWCL he was using one of the B team players to bring the team to 14 players again.

He believes in smaller rosters at the younger ages to encourage more playing time. Obviously not every one will agree with that, but hes been up front about that all year.
I do hope you, and he, see the hypocrisy of his methods. All he's doing is helping the A team players at the expense of this large B team. Great, the A team all get 2/3 playing time. The B team players all struggle to get 50%. Genius.

Its kind of sad how obsessed some people are with the top teams for this age group. Instead of giving Westside and ***C any credit for how well they have done all year, all I see on here is nothing but negativity towards them.

I don't know much about these teams at all, but looked at some of the things they have accomplished this year. Good for them, they are clearly the class of this age group for this year. Good luck the rest of the season.

That brings up another good question. Is it a coaches job to make sure the entire age group is doing things correctly or is it their job only to worry about their own team?

I ask that because in the example above if the B team coach chose to take a larger roster than thats their choice and you can't blame the A team coach for having his own style. As we have shown already each coach has their own feelings about it, and if the A team coach wants smaller roster and the B team coach wants a bigger roster, then is anyone wrong? and how do you blame the A team coach for that?

Because eastsides team was terrible this nwcl tournament so they have to try and justify it with the little knowledge they have.

looks like a tight race for first and second between three teams in the premier division.

The relegation race at bottom of bracket is on as well. FC battling to stay in premiere.

Well, only THUSC, FCSC, & FC Pdx will be left in OPL. The top 3 are all TA teams and the others have all "committed" to OYSA as well so, FC Pdx may be top 3 in OPL soon... Unless those 3 holdout teams decide to also go to OYSA where the competition is. Any word yet on what those three teams are going to do??

So what will bracketing look like next season at OYSA, if this is the case? Can you (or who ever) give me potential division line ups for OPL and OYSA?

the bottom two go down? Looking at schedules and lay out if everyone were to stay with OPL, then it appears to be very likely FCP will be moving down.

Potential split brackets based on rankings thus far:
                        OYSA:
                        1. ***C 02 Reds (NPL 1)
                        2. WT Copa TS (NPL 2)
                        3. ET Red (NPL 3)
                        4. WT Copa (NPL 5)
                        5. VFC Power (NPL 8)
                        6. CFC 02 Red (Premier 1)
                        7. BSC 02 Black (Premier 3)
                        8. EMFC 02 Force (Premier 4)

                        OPL:
                        1. THUSC Emerald (NPL 4)
                        2. FCSC Nemesis (NPL 6)
                        3. FC Pdx Navy (NPL 7)
                        4. Crossfire WUSC Athletico (Premier 2)
                        5. Crossfire LO Defeeters (Premier 5)
                        6. NEU Nor'easter White (Premier 6)
                        7. Pacific FC 03 Revolution (First Div. 1)
                        8. Crossfire SSC Ruckus (First Div. 4)

Given the much weaker OPL bracket, I'm guessing there is a good chance THUSC, FC PDx, FCSC play OYSA as well. Thoughts?

                          Split

Our coach said both leagues will have to combine age groups u11-u12, u13-u14

                          Comment

Well, OYSA won't have to at GU11 anyway. Not sure about other age groups but OYSA will have quite good brackets at this age. For this group, if those 3 hold outs don't join OYSA, I think they will be doing a real disservice to those teams. Who cares if it's called OPL or OYSA, keep the best teams playing each other!

Yeah keep the best teams playing together, tell that to the TA power mongers, because at this point I have not heard a legitimate reason for going back to OYSA just a few years after they left in the first place. I saw and heard the stories before the OYSA to OPL move and it is more of the same for the OPL to OYSA move. Anyone who says it was better before, now, or will be be later, is full of crap. It is the same group of arrogant and/or incompetent DOC's F'ing this up.

So here is my suggestion. Gavin, Bain, Slover, Fasier, Brazeau, DePina, Hanna, Baarts, Enquist, Atencio, NIKE and ADIDAS(If I left anyone off feel free to add your name here ) , quit jacking with soccer in Oregon, your lame excuses and reasons for continually disrupting this sport for our kids is ******* us off. If you all can't figure out how to make it work get along and get our kids playing in a unified league (OPL, OYSA, USCLub, USYSA we don't really care), then get the F out and let smart people people take control to fix soccer in Oregon. we want the best teams playing the best teams. And if you all did a better job of not ******* people off maybe there wouldn't be some many little clubs popping up trying to fix the mess you guys have all made.

Of course you're assuming that nothing else changes: no kids move clubs, the "weaker" teams don't get better, etc. Doesn't usually work that way. The Westside players will migrate to FC / THUSC / Crossfire over the next couple of years also. Happens every year. There is very rarely migration away from those 3 clubs to a TA club. Very rarely.
