Been there, done that. Way better training and competition at one of the 3 big ECNL clubs (FCP, THUSC, Crossfire) than you'll ever get at ODP. I guess ODP is OK for "B" team kids from Timbers clubs and rec club but for the real difference makers it's simply more hours of low-level kickball.

It's funny that you say that. Why won't any of those clubs accept a friendly vs the state odp team? Seems like a good way to put your money where your mouth is.

I would like to see the split between TA club players and non-TA players. I'm guessing TA takes care of their own similar to ECNL. I'm guessing the divide continues but hopefully we'll see some numbers on which teams represent the ODP make up?!

IMHO, TA clubs have a lot more numbers of talented soccer players now at U13 and below then the ECNL clubs. Those ECNL club players that are really good players seem to do just fine in ODP. Players who's parents help pave there way have a difficult time and I think maybe it's those people on this site that bash ODP. ODP wants best players on the field. It's a competitive enviornment.

If your so knowledgeable on this then you would know that there are great players from FC THUSC and (we're at crossfire till recently) crossfire kids on those rosters, along with a bunch of TT kids and kids from miners alliances clubs as well.

While there are good soccer players not doing roc/ odd at the pre echo ages most of the best do participate

Way too general of a statement to say "most" great ECNL players participate.

Even rudimentary analysis would challenge your statement. Lets say there are 18 players on a roster per ECNL club team. Lets say you only consider the top team from the ECNL clubs FC and Crossfire United at any age group are considered. So thats 36 players at each age between 2 clubs that would make up the top ECNL clubs top players. With me so far? Now lets say of that 36, 25% tried out for ODP because they are the best and think ODP is for the best. Thats 9 players trying out total between the 2 ECNL clubs. Did you see 9 ECNL players tryout and are on rosters? Remember thats 25 % of all the best players. 25% is not synonymous with "most". Heck it barely equates to some.

I bet you see 2 maybe 3 maybe 4. Thats 5 - 10 % out of the total possible 36 best ECNL club players. So to me the best descriptor would be "few" of the ECNL club players do ODP which means those rosters are chalk full of Timbers and none ECNL affiliated players.

I am simply saying ECNL club players do tryout and are not represented on ODP rosters. The "best" assumption/argument was only used to make the case for who would even tryout. So used that to make a mathematical point as opposed to using it to make a quality and perfomance point. It could very well be argued that the best of the best of ECNL dont even do it because they already get what they need from their ECNL clubs. But that would change the dialogue now wouldn't it?

There is two from FC at least. Again there were more from both clubs FC and THUSC that tried out.

Seem to be more from WST and TT who don't have a coach on the list. Heck, TT was supposedly black-balled into silver for swapping so I don't see them getting benefits.
