You can teach kids to pass, posses and defend, but scorer's are born not made. And until they give points for passing the teams that score points will win.
And this is TS and ***C train of thought? Your DD must be one of the forwards. Girls can' score if they aren't encouraged or given opportunities and it's not just abou being able to kick a ball on a break. I bet there are other girls on those teams that a born scorers and your teams will need more then just 2 to score at older ages or your team will become irrelevant.

These parents really just want to post a pic of their DD, sporting a medal from their latest boot ball win onto Facebook, and are more interested in filling out their latest scrapbook, than actually dreaming of their kids learning the beautiful game. The "Soccer Mom", ignorant of the game, drivin by boredom and ego, more intertested in bragging to the neighbor about their kids meaningless weekend success, are the single worst thing to occur to US soccer. Tell Mom to stay home, away from the pitch, find a new hobby (kids sports are not an adult hobby) and stop ruining this game with your cursory knowledge of Soccer. Go back to school, volunteer at a homeless shelter, or just take up drinking during the day, just stay out of this game please.
That's right because there so old now . Over have the kids at this age still have their head down when they dribble the ball. Parents Olympic Tryouts are next week we need perfect soccer out of them litlle robots.

Being bigger than everyone at 11 doesn't make you a born scorer. It just makes you big. Give it a few years and you'll see who the 'born scorers' are.

Not talking about any one kid in particular. I am referring to kids at U11 scoring a lot will be the same kids in this group scoring when they hit U14 and above. Been thru this twice now and history will repeat. Kids don't score because they are big.... They score because they are fast, have talent on ball and desire to put it in the net. If your kid isn't scoring now it probably won't change a great deal in future as goals will get harder to come by.

          Just the facts man.

Couldn't disagree more. I have seen so many toe-punts from boot balls in U10 - U12 it is crazy. The players that aren't as developed yet that can still create their goal-scoring opportunities will be able to much better capitalize on those once their bodies catch-up.

If you truly have been through this twice and this is your mentality then there is only one conclusion.... your previous children played low level soccer. Kids scoring goals at U11 will not necessarily be the leading scorers by U14. Some still will but most will not. The game changes, players change position and suddenly size doesn't matter.

I'm sure you'll come back on here and say your kids played high level and are D1 now. It's simply not the case. My guess is your dd is one of these current big forwards and its your oldest child.

You all couldn't be more wrong. Never said size has anything to do with it. I had said speed and talent on ball. Kids that are fast and talented on ball now don't usually get slow and sloppy. Sorry if this disappoints all you with budding Alex Morgans in your cars.

You all are putting to much emphasis on scoring. The mid field and back lineas time goes on is where the games will be won or lost. Best soccer players in age group will be found there. My point was scorers are a different breed of cat and the ones scoring the most now will be scoring the most for years to come.

Ok now all you with kids that just haven't been discovered by there coach or are going to be late developers can start your bashing, but mark my words in 3 years I will be correct.

No where in here did i use the term "bootball". You CAN use fast forwards without just booting the ball. You can string passes together, switch the point of attack, and find quality through balls without playing "bootball", and doing that is using the strength of your team and developing the other players as well. That was the point I was making.

I think everyones gotten a bit off topic. so heres a few questions.

So far is there any surprises in the NPL division?
                    Anyone surprised CFC Tied EMFC?
If you could replace any amount of teams you wanted to from the premier division to the NPL division who would you swap?

Is there really such a thing as a big time scorer at U11? So are you saying the fast forwards with limited ball control and a toe poke will be the big time forward at U14? U don't think so. Speed does not always transpire into goals. It's easy to score goals now as the keepers are small and inexperienced. The goal seems huge and just about any shot has a good chance of going in. I'm sorry but scoring goals now is meaningless in terms of who will be on top in a few years. It'll be the players developing their skills on their own, not the players who will rely on speed.

You couldn't be more wrong. I apologize to all you that have a mid or backline player but the majority of great soccer players regardless of position started as a forward in their formative years. That is absolutely not to say that talent can't be mixed around the pitch but to make this statement is absolutely ridiculous.

I would swap you for a knowledgeable Coach.

Then its a good thing I'm not a coach, and a good thing that I'm not trying to get involved in all the pointless debates where you simply insult others to show how smart you are.

The only place you can hide a weaker player is at Forward. You can put one good one and one bad one up there and no harm done. If you put a weaker player at any other position, the other team will exploit it and beat you.

EMFC is improving every game and look really good right now, they should win this division easily. CFC is not a very good team all they do is play the long ball hoping for a goal and it doesn't happen against good defense.
