I would agree with you, in my opinion those three teams (not fc Portland) can be put any which way. However, I can't think of anytime this year that any of those teams have beat thusc. As far as I can remember the only teams to beat thusc this year have been Westside and ***C, but they have tied many of those teams.

FC Portland is still a bit behind those top 5.

I watched them at the Thusc tournament. They tied Thusc then lost to ***C in the finals 3-1. They had a lot of team speed and played a style where they could beat a good team 5-0 or lose 5-0. They play a very open game. If you are organized in the back you should do well against them.

I decided to come to these rankings with some info to back them up. I looked at the following tournaments (seem to be the main ones where top 10 teams will play) and I recorded their records against other top 10 teams. The following tournaments were used: Cascadia cup, clash at the boarder, Thusc united, PCU, Beaverton cup, Chinook cup, Mt. hood challenge, Lake Oswego Nike cup.

        1. Westside Copa TS: Record: 7-2. They get first due to their 2 wins in a row against ***C Red. Only loses coming to westside Copa and ***C red.

        2. ***C Red: Record: 9-2. They have wins over every team in the top 10 except Westside Copa who they have not played. Only team to beat them so far is Westside Copa TS.

        3. Thusc: Record: 6-4-1. The only teams to beat Thusc this year are ***C and Westside Copa TS.

        4. Eastside: Record: 6-4-1. 2 No wins against anyone in the top 5, but only 1 loss against FCSC and the rest were against top 5 teams.

        5. Westside Copa: Record: 4-5-2. They are the hot and cold team. They have key wins over Westside Copa TS and CFC, however they also have losses against LO and FCP. Their key wins is what got them this spot. However, I don't really think in the long run they stay here.

        6. CFC: Record: 2-4. Only wins against FCSC and LO, have lost all their games to the top teams. Their loss against Westside Copa is why they are behind them.

        7. Lake Oswego: Record: 2-4. Although they don't have a great record, they have wins over both WT copa and FC Portland. Plus all their loses are against very good teams; Westside copa TS, ***C, CFC and Eastside.

        8. FC Portland: Record: 2-7: Their best win is against Westside Copa. But 7 loses against the rest of the top 10 is not good. They are only ahead of FCSC because they beat them.

        9. FCSC: Record: 1-6-2: Only 1 top ten win at the beginning of the year against eastside. Since then they haven't beaten a top 10 team.

        10. EMFC: Record 0-1-1: I truly believe they should be in the middle of this list, however there isn't enough data to justify putting them there. There 2 games were against Thusc which they tied and ***C which they lost to.

EMFC also played in the Eugene Adidas Cup and the Bend Cup but played U12 in both tourneys. They have done decently versus some U12 teams and will, I think, end up at least top five. When they played THUSC tourney, they played with many B team players and still tied Thusc & only lost to ***C 3-1 in the finals. However, they lost one of their very top players who moved and don't have depth so you never know. One thing they have in spades is speed though so teams will have to counter that speed and it would be a big mistake to underestimate them. Most opponents (even U12) have only beaten them in last 5-10mins of game when the star players are tired & slower.

Your welcome. I should have simply thanked you for your moronic contribution. My bad.

                  1. Westside Copa TS
                  2. ***C Red
                  3. Eastside
                  4. EMFC
                  5. CFC
                  6. THUSC
                  7. BSC
                  8. LO
                  9. FCPtd
                  10. SSC

I agree there are two teams at this point that seem a cut above, I think EMFC establishes themselves in the top 5, BSC surprises, and FC Ptd struggles. At this age there will be some unexpected team from a smaller club that will appear on the radar (maybe winning division 1 and moving up for U12) . . . my guess is SSC.

Do BSC or SSC have any wins this summer that would suggest they deserve in the top 10 right now? remember ranking isn't based on where you think they will end up, but where they are currently.

Good point, I was thinking more in terms of end of the fall season. So that would be my predictions on how it ends in OPL at the end of the season.

I purposely picked a couple teams that weren't on people's top 10 because I think at this age group, some unexpected teams will surprise. I picked BSC because I have watched them play and they did beat LO and FC Ptd in the Chinook Cup (only to lose to LO in the finals). I think SSC has beat LO this summer???

I really don't know who has beat who out there. In the few games I have seen this summer (about 10) that would be my predictions for fall.

I see what you mean, and at this age each team will have hot and cold times through out the year. So far though some have been better and more consistent than others. from what I have seen there are 3 main groups so far.

Group 1: Westside Timbers Copa TS and ***C Red. These two have clearly established themselves this summer as the top 2. Of course that gap can close, but right now they will win 8/10 games against any other team.

Group 2: Eastside, Thusc, CFC. On any day they could possibly lose against any of the other good teams, but non have really shown the ability to beat the top 2 teams yet on a regular basis. Once again they could get a win against them, but 80% of the time they would lose.

Group 3: Everyone else. On any day they could beat each other.

                          Westside Copa TS

Westside in my opinion is way above the rest. I would put Washington Timbers in group with everyone else. They have huge holes on the field.

I agree about WT Copa TS. At least for now. If the ***C gets those play-ups & other good players in the area they can catch Copa TS. Otherwise, I think several other teams will catch up to ***C but Copa TS will keep a healthy lead above the rest at least for this year.

Just wait until U15 when the T/S girls all leave because no one wants to merge with WST.

Everyone has holes at this age. WT TS do well because they don't make many mistakes and they play boot ball to fast forwards. That works very well at this age, and they do it very very well. That puts them a step above everyone else right now.

However, I still can't say ***C is in the group with everyone else when they have gone 5 tournaments with no loses against anyone else besides TS (and that includes playing U12 gold this last weekend).
