This is the perfect example of what is wrong with Oregon youth soccer. Two brainwashed parents, who spend way too much, arguing over which crappy product is worse.

The split leagues is completely unacceptable, stop blaming the other side and start calling out your own club, DOCs, coaches and board until they fix this, regardless of which "side" you are on.

The real sides are the kids vs greedy A-holes, don't be an A-hole.

Look at 2013 Fall OPL, 4 or the top 5 are OYSA teams. FCP would have been relegated, Salmon Creek missed relegation by goal diff to Westside 2nd team. The 2 teams that would have been promoted to NPL are now OYSA teams, BSC and CFC. So 6 of the 8 that would have been in joint 2014 OPL NPL are now in OYSA and one of the 2 that stayed barely missed relegation against a 2nd team.

Are you really going to argue what is the stronger league in this age group?

The split leagues are the reality and will be here for the forseeable future. It's actually not a problem for 90%+ of the teams. Bringing them back together is completely in the hands of the Timbers. If they want to bring them together, it can be done. As it hasn't been done, I have to assume that they want the split to continue...

Woulda shoulda coulda. That was a year ago. Things change. The difference isn't as large as you think it is.

Sure, they change but not that much at U11. I'd say Fall standings is a pretty good indicator of how things might have gone in a joint Spring State Cup, so if the argument is over which State Cup was stronger, it's not a woulda shoulda coulda. Hopefully, the soccer powers get their cr*p together, things will rejoin and we'll find out come 2015.

Don't hold your breath on re-unification. If the Timbers really wanted that, it would have happened already.

It does suck. My 11 year old daughter was lamenting the fact that she never gets to play FCP or Thusc anymore.

There are solutions for that. Have your team moved to the OPL. Or move your DD to an OPL club. But if you're waiting on the Timbers to fix things, well...

Well, unless OPL can keep giving teams free leagues, I bet Spring will see more teams move back to OYSA, so hopefully this will force OPL's hand.

why leave a brown pasture for a browner one? Right now we play more top teams than if we leave and go to OPL and get to play Thusc and FC, no thanks.

Of the top 10 teams on last planet currently 6 of them are OYSA, 3 are OPL and 1 is no longer a team from what I have been told. Do you want to continue the argument?

Don't change much? Top team ***C imploded and players lefty for FC along with Westside managing to lose both their "A" and "B" squads!! New reality is there are four top teams, two in OYSA and two in OPL. Divided we remain!

Good thing you're not playing those teams then. Might be an easy W, but not for your TA team...

So they are an easy W, but just not for my kids team? Huh... Odd statement.
