Yep, and to say a U10 team is a definite pick is stupid too. Just responding to poster request to explain why feel the ***C is not a definite shoe in for the NWCL slot. So many people quoting about how this team is the team to beat, etc. They are beatable. The issue is their defense, and risk of teams dropping the ball back and booming ball over top, the outside midfielders not coming back to support and not strong enough to drive ball down against strong girls. If a coach picks up on this and takes advantage and picks up on mismatches then they are not a shoe in.

Okay I have watched a lot of teams so far, so Honestly I got to hear the reasoning why? Yes their defense still needs some work, but they haven't lost to a team in oregon in the last 9 months and finished top 4 in Washington (which if you know premier soccer Washington is far stronger than Oregon) So even if they finally lose 1 or 2 games, what makes them a non automatic? they have already beaten this year EMFC, Westside TS, FC portland, Thusc. All four of those teams are possible OPL Premier teams, so how do you call them a questionable team when they haven't lost to anyone yet?

I get your probably with FCSC but come one, at least be realistic. At least I was when I ranked the teams earlier.

By the way, I know premier soccer in Washington is stronger the Oregon. I think Crossfire will pick up and take advantage too. One fast girl in back is not going to cut it and if you have outside midfielders who fall almost everytime bumped that won't cut it either. Coaches who are playing this team look for the mismatch. Youll see it. Take the ball down that side.

And just like last yrs u11's every team is beatable, but I think to the original posters position that they are a shoe in for premier division is probably spot on as they have beat copa ts, fcp, thusc, and emfc, all clubs that will probably be in premier this fall as well. Just like Et, will and lake o and probably cfc. If they were to win this weekend then yes they probably are the team to beat, and if I had to guess they will be beat at some pt, just like everyone else. No one will run the table most likely. Kids grow, teams gel and all have some adjustments to make moving to the 11v11 format.

Don't put too much weight into any of this. They are still little kids. Things are going to change so much over the next two or three years that nothing will be the same. Trust me.

Just make sure that your kid loves soccer. Encourage them to do what they love whether it's soccer or whatever. It's a great life lesson. Do what you love.

This phase will be in the rearview mirror so fast and you will realize that it's just not that important what happened at U11/U12 soccer, especially when you are dropping them off at college. I realize it's fun for the kids and parents, but it's just not that important.

Actually I was the original poster and I was talking about a shoe in for the premier division. The NWCL anything can happen this weekend. But someone asked about how they decide the premier division so i was responding to that. Sorry for the confusion.

You are right, it's a short window. Have fun and don't take it too seriously. Kids that are stars at 10 or 11 are very, very rarely stars at older age groups. Enjoy it and have a good time and buy your kid an ice cream cone and talk with them, but don't take it too seriously. I've been there.

***C and Westside TS both lead the group with 9 points. About what most people thought we would be at after day 1. BSC comes in one point behind those two with 8 points. CFC could get back into it if they can beat BSC tomorrow morning. ***C and Westside can take a strong grip on this group if they both can win in the morning. It will then come down to what BSC does in their first game and if they can match those two teams. The tough thing for BSC in this group is Westside and ***C don't play each other.

Westside Copa is in the lead with a good tie against Eastside, and then a win over FCSC. I said before this I expect Thusc to win this group, and Eastside and Copa to fight it out for second place. It looks to be going that way. FC portland has struggled against the better teams all summer so far, so i expect them and FCSC to pull up the bottom of that group.

There are 2 slots per bracket. So if they don't play each other then theres a solid chance they both can get through. Tomorrow morning will be say alot. The BSC vs CFC game could make the difference. If that game is a Tie, then it helps both TS and ***C a ton.
