Are you switching clubs this Fall?

I know there is a lot of discontent with current clubs, and I am wondering who else is considering switching clubs this Fall? Which clubs are you going to try out for and why?

Can you share any information on when tryouts are for specific clubs? And what to expect from each?

    Info is posted

Information is posted for most clubs in regards to tryouts. Not all have coach information, but you can easily find that out first-hand from the clubs. Don't rely on this madness here to tell you where to go. Go out and see for yourself - you will, in most cases, be able to tell within the first hour of being there whether or not it is a fit for your kid by talking to parents and coaches. More importantly, your KID will be able to tell YOU whether or not it is a fit or not.

We've been pretty happy with our clubs affiliation. The only negative that we've experienced is all the teams with the same uniform and team names. How many "Timbers", "Copa's" and "Samba's" do we really need.. Absolutely not leaving where we are at.

We're switching clubs. Going from a short handled one with a big barrel to one with a longer handle and a more streamlined head. We might also get a spike in the barrel.

It's not as common as you think. Due to proximity, loyalty, friends, you don't see a ton of movement. If your DK is one of the better players and you are on a team on the down swing, you will see some movement towards larger clubs, clubs with teams in all age brackets, teams that are competitive at multiple levels of competition. If your DK isn't trying to be the next Alex Morgan / Messi, just find a place that makes them happy. Most of the crap on this board is just that, crap. If you DK is going to be the next big thing, then the OPL has league records, state cup and previous years seasons on file... pretty easy to do some research online and find a club. Most clubs have their head coaches for each age group already listed if you are into that as well.

Yes, but, I not sold any better. Feel like no real great club. It's all lateral movement.

Wait??!!??!! Are you telling me that all of our players aren't going to get full ride scholarships and international stardom? The Timbers keep telling us that we will have all these things if we stick with them and pay their prices.

You Portland people are such simpletons. Club fees in other parts of the country are $3,000 and up. You sit here and complain about one club charging $1,500 vs. another club charging $1,200. Move elsewhere and you'll be happy as a clam to be paying $1,500. And meanwhile, you complain about the quality of fields and coaching and ..... What can one expect I guess when you live in a socialist state.
