VS plays for Jesuit and is on the roster for TA but won’t play because of school commitments. He’s never played for T2. He is an amazingly talented player but his parents quite rightly decided education was more important than the 0.001% chance of making is in pro soccer.
Yawn....played in friendly with T2 side a few weeks ago as do many of the u18 TA kids since they don't require any salaries and they help minor league reserves get some match fitness in closed scrimmages. Timbers are desperately trying to create an eco system of player development on the cheap, gven the budget realities of the single entity MLS franchise..

Oregon HS on the boys side is a an exact mirror of the commercialized pay to play sea of mediocrity that is now called Oregon Club Soccer.

The Timbers Youth Club do play at a decent Youth club level, the MLS Next.

Oregon has no presence or foothold in any ECNL league at the moment, a handful of clubs play in a OYSA/Idaho Youth club home and away charade coined the ecnl R, for marketing purposes & one local Portland club opted to play just Wa. Clubs during the fall and the winter months in hopes this choice would give them some ecnl cache, since it's a.Wa. ECNL league.. Predictably, It has become an over use nightmare in the Fall as OR. HS teams train and play up to 5 to 6 days a week from Aug to Nov.
Paying for labels is expensive on many levels..

That’s smart if true. So many parents and kids waste their teen years chasing the unattainable. I love hearing kids and familys valuing education over sports and not making a mistake of trusting the Timbers to raise their kids because those people don’t give any effs. The amount of trouble academy kids get into and that gets covered up is jaw dropping

Would be smart if run of the mill hoodwinked Oregon parents stopped agreeing to pay for nonsensical travel in make believe elite club leagues.

Contrasted with VS who is arguably a once in a generation player by Oregon standards and actually would have a shot of making it abroad at the tender age of 15. If he lived anywhere else on the globe other than.

The jealousy and hate you spew is fun to read. Not valuing education is why you are poor both monetary and emotionally.

Your ignorance and irrelevant responses are not your fault, this is merely a byproduct of your unique DNA. Carry on.

Also he got the game winner playing a mere 10 minutes of the entire match. By being in the Right place, at the Right time.

High School is the most important league. How do I know this? UPDX is playing meaningless MEANINGLESS ECNL games, because their players are prioritizing Oregon high school soccer and that is why UPDX sucks right now.

Could the best two high school teams in the state be Summit and
                            La Salle?

                            5A is killing it.
Lakeridge beat Summit, so....not sure about that assessment.

Not sure anymore really cares about OSAA pre season friendlies played in the High Desert of central Oregon after a 4 hr yellow bus ride.

BTW Summit is a verified 6A school at this time. Misplaced into a hybrid 5A league for a 4 yr time block(this is yr 3) along with other Bend area 6A, 5A and 4A.schools. Since no 6A league would allow them + Bend & Mt. View entry back into their league, due to travel safety concerns and unnecessary time on buses.

Summit is really a 6a school but let’s not dismiss any win. It counts for rankings. It counts for seedings and everyone wants to win. Winning in Bend with the drive the, smoke, altitude and heat isn’t easy but good teams get the job done and Jesuit didn’t .
