If your argument is tennis doesn’t have bio banding then why should soccer that is pretty stupid. Also many sports are recruited from high school not club, soccer is very unique in how large of a sport it is and high school is looked at as just for fun.

Euro countries also bio band for the girls or play based off the school year calendar.

To adopt something like just birth year with no plan or forethought of how this might play out for everyone was moronic. We should be trying to develop as many kids as possible should be our goal.

Now to come full circle people like you who think if you are a December kid who’s maybe undersized for the age group couldn’t be an effective player playing down from 10s to 11s are just ignorant.
Correction. Sorry. Didn’t mean to come across stupid. They are not “Playing Down” from 10 to 11s. They are playing with their grade. Sorry I’m a moron.

Baseball and basketball kids get recruited from their high school teams and during season all the time. I don’t know anything about hockey. Both are grad year or SY.

Baseball and basketball are almost entirely club based as far and recruiting go.

In California many scouts go watch high school games. The season is important for kids trying to get recruited. Obviously scouts goto travel ball and AAU stuff but high school also plays important role in recruiting. I don’t think local scouts even watch a soccer state championship game in California.

Neither of those sports are BY. They are grad year and SY.

So I won’t reveal myself but I did get some answers from the higher ups at ecnl . They indeed were thinking about the switch back . Talked it over with USYS . Usys was clear in the stance that they are not changing back . ECNL then got major push back from bigger clubs within that have more ecnl then usys teams that they are not in favor and so on . Ecnl has since switched there stance on this with it being to much now . They will release in Jan that they are not . You talk to anyone who means anything they will tell you same . Take it for what it is but it’s not happening. .

Only makes sense if USYS does it. If they were going to do it, that first year of Covid was the time to do it IMO.
