Or fast defenders. Or an outstanding keeper. And their midfield is suspect. But other than that, they are clearly better than Copa TS who has yet to lose to them.

Hey, I need a scout for local soccer talent. Do you know anyone??

So let me see if I follow this soccer analysis. Are you saying that if TS Copa played a 4-4-2 instead of a 4-2-4, opponents would not have the ability to pass the ball "to feet", because now their midfield would not have space? Is a 4-2-4 an excuse not to play the game the way it should be played but rather focus on run and gun athleticism. Oh, and I'm dying to hear this. Do the four forwards in this 4-2-4 that you're asserting they play just sit 4 forwards accross the top, hence leaving tons of space in the midfield. Wow, I never thought I would see a throwback to 1950's soccer! And how did Thusc add that last defender. Did they drop a sweeper behind a flat back four, or did they move into a flat back 5, or was it a 3-4-3 with two wing backs dropping in defensively that created 5 defenders. I'm just dying to drink your soccer wisdom.

Where did it ever say that THUSC added an extra defender? When we played them Copa T/S played with a flat 5 in the back and a defensive mid which basically made it 6 defenders. Not their normal line up but they were going for a tie or hopefully a quick counter attack while the Onyx defenders were pushing up.

Never heard of a flat back 5. Sounds absurd.

            What about the other questions.

Oh he'll try but he can't because he hasn't a clue what he's talking about. The correction of the misinterpretation is as far as it will go. He's already got Copa playing a flat back 5.

I care and who cares about Stealth and Pride and what does that have to do with anything. In fact, are you even relevant to this conversation?

Does Stealth and Premier have very many players from the Vancouver?

With the drama between the two teams, I would have figured that the teams are from the Vancouver area.

I would like to make a correction on that. It wasn't a flat back five. It was a flat 4 with a deep sweeper. They did appear to be flat sometimes though.

You do know that flat back does not mean they play flat ? LOL. (Once there is a sweeper it is no longer a flat back either.) You should quit you sound foolishly uniformed.

Why would anybody ever play with more than 3 defenders in youth soccer? Play 3-4-3, get the numbers up front and pass the ball a whole bunch.

                            Please educate us more...

The problem is most think it is and most coaches also think that. The name is stupid, plain and simple. But, someone said it who had an accent (maybe Sunny) and it is now the "right way to play". Seems kind of dumb though when you play in this area for teams that play bootball and play against bootball teams, to not play with depth.

A well played flat back defense will shut down bootball teams easily...if the AR's are on the ball that is. Offside trap ftw.

                                1-1-1

My daughters team plays a solid 1-1-1 but she is U7 and it is 3 on 3 no goalie. Seems to work well for them. When they aren't in that formation, you can see them run a 3.......that is when they are all running flat up the field, all 3 of them in a row.

Next year is going to be a huge adjustment, 4x4 no goalie.....any ideas on what formations are working at that level?

                                Thanks
