1. Recruit Players – The definition of “recruit” for purposes of our league shall be: approaching a player who is registered to, and actively playing for another team within an Oregon Premier League or US Club Soccer Club and asking them to join your team during the calendar of competition; for OPL purposes, our calendar is as follows:
U11-14: Starting seven (7) days AFTER the first open date of tryouts THROUGH the date of the OPL State Cup Finals.
U15-18: Starting seven (7) days AFTER the first open date of HS age tryouts THROUGH the
conclusion of US Club Soccer National Championships.
Additionally, “recruiting” is also defined as asking players to play or guest play for any other team outside their club, without FIRST receiving prior written permission from the player’s current club Director Of Coaching or Coaching Coordinator – even for purposes of tournament guest play. (Email is considered acceptable “written permission”). Should a DOC give permission, a US Club Soccer Player Loan form should then be executed between the two clubs.
