What’s up with boys soccer at Lake Oswego SC?

2012 - no state cup participant
2011 - no state cup participant
2010 - no state cup participant
2009 - no state cup participant

They don’t offer soccer older than U14

Who’s running that club to the ground?

Who cares? Has been club that doesn’t pay their coaches or admins anything. Mostly rec soccer driven. That’s all it always has been and always will be. Carry on…

Who: The mythical club called OPFC.

As subtext the parent companies (WUFC & LOSC) do not contribute any resources such as money or expertise to the new entity (OPFC), so this is not a typical joint venture.
The creation of OPFC could be considered a form of collusion or anticompetitive behavior, which may be illegal in some circumstances.

Collusion refers to a secret agreement or cooperation between companies (LOSC/WUFC) to deceive or manipulate the market to their advantage, often to the detriment of consumers.
If the two parent companies (LOSC/WUFC) are colluding to charge higher fees to their best customers (players) by creating a fake third company (OPFC), this would be a violation of antitrust laws and could lead to legal action.

However, without knowing the specific details of the situation (about running 'x' club into the ground), it is difficult to determine the exact nature of this business arrangement.
For both LOSC & WUFC it is always best to consult with legal and financial experts to ensure that any business arrangements are legal and ethical per the DOJ.

Dude, don't mistake your google skills for a law degree. There is no F'ing way that those two entities have enough of the market to amount to any actionable collusion. I have no skin in this at all, we don't live near where those clubs operate, but I am offended as I feel dumber for have read that post. Does Fox News contribute to this place now? Maybe Tucker Carlson was bored since he is out of a job.

Sounds more like a ponzi scheme here, with the classic double dip method of employee payment(s)

It's very tricky since it's two mission based community membership based non profits sports clubs colluding.

Glad to hear the DOJ is digging into this mess.

LOSC is doing exactly what they have done for many years. They provide a great Rec program for young elementary school kids and and a mid level Rec + program from U11 to U14. After this their top players move to a more competitive club for high school. It appears to be a very successful business model for them.

It seems that the fake 3rd party business (OPFC) has been even more successful, as the employees of LOSC and WUFC are now able to get paid twice for the same work, but at a higher rate through the fake 3rd business. This is certainly a clever scheme. It's impressive to see such a savvy group of parents involved with these non-profit organizations.

Except for the fact that they are run like a shyt club but they pay their leader Fraser Morrison almost $200,000. Dude rakes in more than some GM’s at pro soccer clubs in the US LMAO

How do you not have a state cup entry in one age division on the boys side? Have you let the parents know that they’re paying $2000 a year for their kids to play in a 2nd class organization?

What do their board members think of this? Surely you pay a guy $200,000 to do the best job for your club (LOSC), not to do the best job for another club (OPFC) at the expense of your club?

Any thoughts, Peter Razey, David Ryan, Kelly Does, Darren Cruickshank, Harish Thiagraj? Is this how you guys do it in Lake Oswego?

The department of justice is not investigating Lake Oswego soccer club nor Oregon Premier football club FC. The Attorney General is not investigating them. The IRS is not investigating them. Stop making things up. DOJ has bigger fish to fry.

Maybe they don’t knowingly contribute to OPFC, but when they share office space (how much is OP contributing if any for rent and utilities), tons of other resources and employees who make most of their money from LO and WU (but get pennies on the dollar in wages at OP) but do the same amount of work at both clubs (you could argue they do more at OP), then yes, the parents and parent clubs ARE paying for OPFC to sustain its club, they just don’t know it. It’s a Ponzi scheme and quite predatory in my humble opinion.

DOJ did indeed initiate an investigation into the operations of OPFC and WUFC. This is verified information.

I see this post, I go to the state cup results and see United didn’t make out of group play at 2009 or 2010 and barely scraped by in 2011 so of course the sh!t talking is starting again.

                            predictable posts are predictable .

I wish you two clubs would just fight it out and leave the rest of us alone
