    WSM no longer relevant

Looking at recent standings it seems fair to say that WSM have fallen on hard time. Not the winning program that they once were.

Great question, and the answer is yes. In terms of winning they do not dominate like they used to. However, they still have a large player base and provide a valuable service to their community

Obviously they are relevant if someone feels the need to start threads about them.

Relevant? yes. What they used to be? Nope. Not even close.

They handed all of their hardware players to the Timbers DA & Thorns DA. Serving the community just the same. Well done.

That club is stuck in the dark ages. They have had the same coaches for years and still have no plan. Same plan as all of them, take your money.

I give props to all the other clubs who have executed on their plan of being irrelevant for eternity. Despite many name changes they can't escape their destiny. Same Plan, Same execution = Same dismal outcome(s). Yawn

This is often said but not true. Look at the U15, U17 and T3 rosters and you do not see WSM players in a higher concentration than other teams. It has been years since WSM was the top club.

4 starters on the u15 team.

no higher concentration supplied by any othe local club.

                  Try and concentrate, dunce.

They are a shadow of what they once were. Looking at how they did in Fall across the younger ages it is clear their best days were long ago.

Going from the most dominant club in Oregon History decade after decade, now fast forward to present day & they are merely a top 3 club in the state. (something the other clubs have dreamed of becoming)
This fact highlights the impact that 10yrs+ of Timbers & Thorns DA poaching of the best of the best youth players from their club and others. This club had the most to lose in terms of quality and they did indeed lose it.

As a result we have evolved into a somewhat 'even' club playing field & these once irrelevant clubs--(those historically being smacked by WSM or other one-off club Guerillas) by double digits-- do indeed have a front row seat at the table of parity, present day..

An independent fully funded local youth academy created this current parity ridden club landscape. But, why bring that up? Seriously it doesn't fill seats in coach x-country, now does it?

Look, WSM is still a quality club and one of the best in the state. No doubt. For those that want to make them look bad I just do not see why?

Thats literally oregon. There isn't a club in Oregon that can deny that charge

Wow, some sincerely stupid comments on here.

Almost to the point you wonder if the individual who started this thread is an alien.

Question for the morons on this thread supporting the original statement..... what club in Oregon is winning regional titles?

                            No one....correct.

                            Which is competing nationally.....again.....none.

so regardless of WSM or any other club ..... no Oregon club is seen as competitive outside of Oregon.

                            Wake up morons.

You have ex "almost made it" players being attributed with your top teams and can't produce. You have academy squads with multiple players who don't travel at all. Not sure how they even get on an academy team at that point. Your academy coaches aren't even given pre game meetings or post. Something you'll see elsewhere....which again is why Oregon doesn't win outside of Oregon.

You have ex cons running clubs. An ex drug dealer is head of one of the largest pools of players in OYSA.

Oregon clubs run their non profit like its a Christmas tree with nothing but gifts under it. Get a clue....its a business. Just with different borders than a for profit. Standards should be as high as a large company......but it they aren't because their ran by well....look above.

You want evidence. Look up statistics for your ECNL or your USYS leagues. Theirs data to review and it backs it all.

I wonder....when will all of you stop picking your booty holes of opinions and actually get smart.
