What can be done to rid the Timbers from youth soccer? From OYSA and ODP? This is too much.

I’m sure plenty thought playing for Paul Riley was awesome…until he tried to make sexual advances towards them, made homophobic remarks, abused his power over them, and what did the administration do? Covered it up and blamed the victims. How do you think your little angel will manage in this type of organization? This my friend is why you boycott organizations from the top down. If you want to kill the cancer, you have to get rid of every cell.

But you sound like a real jackass, so all the best to you and the poor kid who has to deal with your sh-t philosophy on life.

Timbers and Thorns need to be as far away from youth sports as possible until the abusers and enablers are gone.

Do you trust these people to run youth programs?? For gods sake look at how they treated adult women and domestic abuse victims. What do you think the cover up would look like for abuse to a child?

The soccer kids are all talking about this, what message does it send if their kits have Timbers and Thorns logos on them? Knowing that it is ran by people who seemingly don’t care at all about the well-being of athletes.
Pathetic is the only word I have for anyone who supports this organization with Merritt Paulson still in ownership.

Has he issues 5 apologies already? Only 1 should be needed, after that you are full of sh!t

The kids wear the uniform of their favorite players, men and women. It is the responsibility of adults to police other adults.

I remember going to a Blazer game and seeing kids with Zach Randolph jerseys on. I always felt that was strange.

Well, Gavin is gone. Expect Merritt to be out soon (harder to fire an owner).

Hopefully the new management isn't another bunch of rich dudebros.

They’ll definitely need to be rich.

Why would a kid feel bad about wearing a players jersey name. Players didn't do anything.

You sound like you need help. I hope you find the support you're looking for someday, Karen.

Paul Riley has absolutely nothing to do with who my daughter plays for. I don't make my parenting decisions based off the incompetencies of a soccer organization. My daughter plays with her friends and for a coach who I like and respect. If that's a problem for you, then I really don't know what to tell you.

When you're done making such a huge difference in our society by posting on this anonymous platform, maybe you can go be a decent parent and check in on your kid for once. Toodeloo!

Soccer coach here. I can assure you that kids are not talking about this. At least not at my trainings.

What has transpired is an atrocity and I hope that justice continues to be served, but the most important thing we can do for our youth is to ensure that they continue to enjoy the beautiful game of soccer. The field can be a sanctuary for them and should be treated as such.

Wrong, with social media, the kids are in the know, my daughter was asking a bunch of questions last night when she got home. Don't fool yourself, this is a hot topic with the kids.
