Why is the ODP from Oregon referred to as Timbers/Thorns ODP? EVery other program in the country contains the respective state name in some form, OPD Cal North, Washington ODP, etc.... Why is this?

isn't ODP supposed to be a state based program that is club neutral? Why are kids wearing Thorns and Timbers branding?

Agree, if this was truly about the best, why are there multiple teams in each age group? Select the top 18 or so, let then train ( and it needs to be more than 4-8 sessions) and be done.

They already had the real tournament in Arizona earlier this year. This is the Friendship cup and is only between a few states and every kid that made the first cut in the Arizona roster was invited back and plays in these games. The object was fun. Not necessarily beating every team.
Agreed that way too many boys participated.

No one in college or the pros cares if you do ODP or not. They all know that it's a 3rd tier money grab waste of time.

And the best part about it is players will be picked for “regional camp” that don’t deserve to even be in the state odp pool to begin with….
