It finally becomes clear just what we have set ourselves up for. More and more politics.

In the past I have seen the statement made by the powers that be (OPC) that the teams at the bottom of premier "didn't want" to move down, so they didn't have to. Odd it only seems like Big 8 teams get this choice...otherwise they actually enforce the rules.

Westside Timbers Copa TS won league, won the directors cup, and was not allowed to join premier.

Tough for your team but your DOC should have thought more of the team at the beginning of U11 and put them in premier for fall of U11. 12 teams were in premier at U11 and it makes sense that the top 8 from those 12 stay in premier. Bottom 4 from U11 premier are dropped to D1. At least that makes D1 more competitive for your team.

He was told if our team beat the other contending teams in the u12 premier that it would become a non-negotiable. We beat or tied all of the teams (except 1 that we didn't get to play) and still nothing. Wish there was a consistency. Guess we'll have to win D1 all over again. The teams that dropped down from premier will more than likely end up middle of D1 or lower. They have lost to half the current D1 teams last spring and this summer.

The problem is we have now heard throughout this thread examples which equate to a lengthy list of exceptions. It's these exceptions that cause people to scrutinize and feel like the process is unfair. When my DK played in the RCL, I don't recal much of any ill will towards the rules (or those that make them) because they were clear, fair, and no exceptions.

I appologize if that comes across confrontational. I just think you are talking about something different than what this thread has been discussing. We all know Crossfire and Wa Premier have a lot of power and they most certainly have pull when it comes to making the rules, changeing the rules, or whatever politics that may come with it. That said, when it comes to setting the RCL Divisions, relegation, and promotion the rules are very clear. In my years in the RCL, I never had a beef with that part of the RCL and I rarely heard any complaints from others either. I cannot say that with the OPL. In fact, it is quite the opposite. Many people are frustrated, and I feel rightly so.
