I am taking my ball and going home, you should just believe me because I said it was true!!!!

People, if the rules for all OPL divisions is the same going forward then this discussion becomes mute. If OPL is now saying that NO ONE and I mean NO ONE can be placed into Premier without going through Div 1 and they hold to it, then it's fine. And if they make all bottom 2 move down, and top 2 move up across all divisions, it works. The problem is that they have not followed strict rules in the past which opens it up for animosity and complaints. In no way, shape, or form, should they be debating who deserves to move up a division based on tryouts and coaches opinions. It should be left to results.

That is what people are frustrated with.

Agree 100%.. OPC needs to have clear promotion and relegation rules AND they need to follow them no exceptions.

I would assume that going forward including this year that they will do this. Someone posted that they are a new league and are working through the kinks. I think at this point they should have it together and I believe they did this fall and will continue to do it going forward. We have to believe this at this point as it is basically the only game in town.

they should have had this worked out first year.. "They" are the experts and to STILL not have it done is just stupid. I doubt they will EVER have a rule on it just because it doesnt help the big 8. No rule = they can do what they want and WE have nothing that we can do about it.

i am a WAFC coach, and i do agree all new teams should fight for a spot in the premier level.

we cant just expect to play premier simply because we have several state cup titles and several first place medals on all the tournaments ran by the big 8 :-)

The rules pertaining a new club are ***not*** being followed with WST (of course not since they are the big 8) and the Sherwood merger. New club name for Sherwood, new DOC, etc new kids on the team! WST TS teams should spend a year in Div 1 & earn their Premier spot!

What rules is WST TS not following?
                        New club name - Yes
New DOC - On year two is that still new?
New kids ex:U12G - A few - Some playing up came down bumping kids from U11 last year down. thus improvement on players
"Earn their premier spot"? - They did that finishing top of Div 1, winning directors cup, From state cup to now they have Tied #1 & #2 from premier, Beat #4,5,6 & 9. Think they've proved it.

That said - Powers that be have determined we will be in Div 1 again with the second place Div 1 team WSA (great team that deserves the opportunity as well) so.. oh well, we'll play in Div 1 kids will have a fun year and maybe next year they will be let in..

As for U14 Same situation. Played Premier last year. Do you think that just because we changed our name all of our teams should be relegated? Doesn't seem logical at all and I would not hold your club to that same standard but hey, we're all different..

You're only saying that because you haven't been able to beat the team that has consistantly been at the top. It's not an expectation, the kids have earned it by performing at the top of their age group for three years. What other evidence does a "seeding" comittee need?

Yes, your club "made the wrong choice" when you went with OYSA and now you must "do your time" in OPL Div 1. :-)

"Do your time"... are we in prison?! OPL is doing the same thing OYSA did to their "elite" clubs when they didn't have control!
