    U13 coaching surprises?

Tough decisions ahead. . . Most of the players trying out for girls VT 99 (u-14) won't know what they are getting in their new coach. But, they know what they lost.
8 teams between the two clubs is now 6.
4 opl teams becomes 3. 3 pml teams becomes 2.
    So much for-
    CWSA Liberty- Dan Macaya
    CWSA Thrashers- Brian Dayley
    CWSA Valencia -Todd Stevenson
    Timbers Rojo- Barry Firth
    We will miss you.

First impression........at that age group the Vancouver Timbers have just shown a lot of players the door......"don't let it hit you in the ass on the way out".

You guys would be stupid to think that there won't be any contraction from this merger. The two clubs did a good job not implementing the merger at the last tryouts.....VT would've bled more player if so.

                  Contraction. . . Expected, I guess.
                  But 3 '99 coaches out of 5 have an "e" license. . . when A "D" license is a 2 weekend commitment?
Seriously, 1/2 the coaches in the age group are new.
                  Not so expected.

And you are literally stupid enough to believe that a 2 weekend license makes a good coach.

                    Everyone clap for this genius!

I'll give you a few A license coaches in that area that don't have a clue.

There is one off the top of my head that most kids won't play for and another who hasn't coached a competitive level club or high school team.

Both are good choices for your kid next year.....

Agreed. There are some pretty bad coaches who don't have licenses and some very poor coaches who have top licenses. Some of the coaches my kid played for who is now graduated and playing college soccer were instrumental for her and they didn't have high licenses. One of the worst coaches she had licenses from a few places.

Although I agree licenses don't mean everything, the 2 A license coaches in SW wa are not very good. They might have flaws but overall good coaches.

Nope, but it shows a commitment to professional development (and it used to be required). Obviously, VT thinks it is important since the website is calling many of the coaches "candidates" for a D license.
PS- Do you have to resort to name calling to make a point?

You were right the first time. Pretty sure your kid hasn't played for them both.

GO has people that don't like him but my DS played for him and didn't think he was bad(as the other poster pointed out) the other has little to no experience coaching a high level competitive team.

It does show how ridiculous it is and even more so when people actually think it means something.
