The coach is not the ONLY thing I would like to know. How many teams at each level? Will teams train together and the kids will move around, academy style? How many on each premier team? (I heard a rumor that they will go with 21-22.) Can my player request to be with the B team if they want more playing time or like that coach better? What are the new costs that go above and beyond the $1100 (registration and tryout) fees?

Teams are to be between 14 and 18 players. The first 12 offers made for each team are based on tryout evaluation scores. The rest of each roster is filled at the coaches discretion.
Whether teams train together and move players around will depend more on the coaches than on any "system". In most age groups, it's unlikely to happen very often.
Fees only cover coaching, fields, leagues and state cup. You'll be on the hook for all tournaments.
Players can't request a team this year. You can decline an offer from the A team if you wish but that doesn't mean you'll get an offer from the B coach. You might, or the next offer might come from C or D. It's a chance you take when you decline the first offer. When you get down to the Tier 4 (select) teams, there will be more flexibility to keep current teams together if desired, but no guarantees.

Frothing at the mouth. Those Valencia parents are something else. After the first crazy that came through, maybe expect no one will touch them.

It seems that they are going back. 8 valencia girls off our team and a few u13 reds went to the nemesis practice at night. we don't want to make the drive to soggy felida park 3 times each week. I hope the timbers come up with a good coach for the team.

I agree with part of this, I would just add to the end of your sentence, "the way the merger has been implemented and the decisions that were made."

The point is you have amatuer hour over there making decisions that are based on who spoons with who at McMenamins while sipping a beverage.

How do you know you cant try out for a particular team? I didnt see that. We might not want to travel yet and would want to avoid A team. Do you really think a B coach wont offer a spot to a kid that turns down an A slot? I dont

I like their 18 person cap. I fully expect Timbers to max out each team, for both money and for more playing options for the coach. One pb is see is there will be up to 6 coach picks. That's too many for an A team.

Hahahah what a joke. No one in their right mind goes back there. Goes to show you how stupid Valencia or ex Valencia parents are. There is maybe 1 Valencia kid going back there and the ex reds were ex Valencia parents which explains that.

Fcsc screwed them over and Tina was the coach with victor then. Nothing changes. Those Valencia parents remember. They aren't bad they just came from a place where they got screwed. Anyone would be.

It was explained at a couple of different Advanced Comp meetings by both Gary and Sunny that there would be no cases of players choosing teams this year. Will be a completely open tryout with offers starting at the A team and no offers to the B team until the A team roster is complete.
As for the B coach not offering, I've seen it happen. Maybe the coaches kid plays a certain position and doesn't want competition? Maybe the B team coach already has in mind who he/she wants at various positions and has no room for "another center mid-fielder". It's a risk you take when you decline an offer. Most of those declining do so because they want to play tier 4 (9 month season) or want to play for their parent who coaches a lower level team.
