Are you referring to VUSA BU14??? I think you better check your facts. VUSA played 2nd Division and went 1-8-3. Spring session they unfortunately got put in the top bracket until late in the season and got killed until they got moved to lowest division (with SC) and while all the scores aren't recorded (perhaps they don't want anyone to know), it shows them at 1-2.

Yes, I am a BU14 SC parent (ducking now), SC went 0-11-1 in Div II Fall league (with no dedicated keeper I might add). Within 6 short weeks of coaching change and totally different playing style, I am proud to say they went 6-2 in Spring League and 3-3 at State Cup (2nd place Silver Division). We have an excellent core and they boys are playing some seriously good soccer. Keep your snide remarks to yourself and let's just see where they go. Any serious BU15 boys looking for high-level coaching, great team dynamics with no drama, and great parents, please come check out SC BU15!!! Say what you want about the rest of the club - these boys are training hard and looking good for next year....just need a few more boys.

It couldn't have anything to do with the American PAY to PLAY style, could it??? It is often those with the deepest pockets who play American club ball and continue to play at college level..... $$$ does not equal good, long-term soccer player. God Bless America!

You mean that the very same kids but they changed the coach and then it all started to gel? This sounds like another FCSC soap opera! Did the coach leave on his own or was asked to leave ? More important, what was the style like before and after the change?

Also, the RCL Division 2 winner (Snohomish), the WSA Premier A team put a thumping on them in State Cup, 4-0.

The VUSA Premier A team is also very strong. They can compete with the top OPL teams and did in Fall and Spring. I believe VUSA finshed 3rd in OPL Fall when it was not diluted. I honestly don't know which team is stronger, VUSA A or WSA A but probably give the edge to VUSA. The teams pretty much split when playing each other. If you were to take the top of each and make one team, it would be very strong. WSA Premier B is moving up to OPL Division 1 and has already shown they can compete in that Division, probably somewhere in the middle.
That reminds me that VUSA A team is the old Pacific FC team that transferred to Timbers.
Not sure VUSA has a B team.

Where does the current Pacific 98 play? How do they compare with WSA Premier B?

The VUSA A team has been pretty much the same team since it was put together at U11. It is possible that a couple Pacific kids joined them over the years, but that would be about it. I think you are right that they do not have a B team at that age.

I didn't even realize that Pacific even had a B98 team. The WSA Premier B team will be playing in the OPL Division 1 this coming fall. I would expect them to finish middle of the pack based on teams they have beat and lost to in the recent spring OPL.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing.
Wasn't this Harrison Martin's team? Who has a relative on the Board and he coaches High school at Washougal I believe. He was highly advertised last year when Joe brought him on--and did not make it a year.

Spring league is not the same as Fall--it is usually much easier. And Washington Cup is not State cup. Challenge and Championship CUp are the real State Cups--everyone else plays in Washington Cup. Not saying the team did not do well there--just don't pretend the silver division for Washington Cup is a some high caliber tourney--if you dont make state cup you play in Washington Cup.

So another coach gone from SC is what you are saying.

You shouldn't be so misleading with your use of the word "State Cup". The SC team played in the silver division of the Washington Cup. The State Cup is the Champions Cup, lower level is the Challenge Cup, and then finally for those that didn't make it in either of those, the Washington Cup. And your team was in the silver division of that. I'm sure the boys are hard working and I'm glad they are seeing some success but don't misrepresent their accomplishments.

Success has to start somewhere. Being able to play with like type competition is the right path for the kids. The question is do you pay $1k for it or for a third of the price you can do the same thing at select.

Small correction to "and then finally for those that didn't make it in either of those". That's not accurate. Washington Cup is a separate tournament from Champions and Challenge. FCSC would not qualify to play in Challenge or Champions because they played US Club soccer.

IIRC, the full team, including Burris, came from Chinook which is now Pacific. Don't hear of that too often. Unless of course you are talking about tis message board's favorite son, Victor , who tried it and failed.

Not true, strong teams will play Spring league to qualify. Like your U13 girls team played Championship cup, the U14 girls played Challenge Cup.

Imagine that the soccer community doing what is right for the kids.Do you know there were multiple teams that switched clubs with the coach this upcoming season and only 1 was told NO?

On their website at http://www.pacificfc.org/tryouts/b98 Pacific has 3 teams. Shooting for 3 teams is more like it. I can't tell if they will play OPL or OYSA or something else.

If I had a kid that was a WSA Premier B player, Pacific A might be a better choice. Premier fees to WSA is probably negated by gas costs driving to wherever it is that this mystery pacific team practices however.

Which teams went where? The only ones I heard were the (small club) Westside teams got absorbed by Pacific.
