You won't see our best teams (older) as they will be in the RCL. You'll play our B teams and they will be good. They will be your caliber or better.
      It's great being in SWWA! RCL>>> A teams. OPL>>> B teams. Perfect!

this obviously isn't a VUSA contingent.......VUSA does have "A" teams in OPL...I have a child that is....so there is one team....I would bet there are 4 or 5 "A" teams that are doing this. There is potential for more....I heard that VUSA is waiting to see what division teams will be placed before they make their decision. This all falls into line with the new Timbers Alliance....

You must be a younger team.
What will happen is we will keep all our youngers close to home. No need to travel at this age. The OPL is plenty competitive at this age. We will take our olders to the RCL @ u14 or so.
The OPL only has a couple good teams at that point and playing them over and over again is counter productive. The RCL offers more depth and quality at the older ages. Fact.... Our older teams need to travel to get adequate competition.

Makes perfect sense to keep younger age groups local whenever possible. At these ages, kids/families are still trying to decide whether competitive soccer is what they really want to do. By the time you hit U14, they pretty much know whether they want to commit the time and effort that comes with competing in the RCL. It is a major commitment as all the other teams are Seattle area, Yakima, and Spokane. For the the younger teams that can actually compete in Division 1, they may choose to play RCL to test their skills at the highest level. With a combined club, I believe you should see maybe half the age groups with a team that can compete at that level. Purely a guess, maybe less maybe more.

Also, by U15, all competitive SW Washington teams pretty much HAVE to go with RCL since Washington High School soccer is in the Spring and Oregon HS soccer is in the Fall. So with most kids wanting to play high school soccer, Washington kids main club season is Fall when Oregon kids are playing high school.

U13G at WSA and VUSA are both subpar. Combining them will make them a decent division 1 team but that's it. I guess we differ on what a good team means.

OK I'll give you that one year! But when the FCSC team explodes and the majority of players migrate back tp the Vancouver Timbers this will all change.

This only applies to HS age Boys teams.
The Girls are on the same schedule in both OR and WA.

The Nemesis team isn't very good now so I don't see how that will change if they join VUSA.

You can't possibly be talking about the nemesis g98's that are in the Washington Championship Cup quarterfinals?
This age group, in particular, would benefit the most by merging all the top players.

Right. Not very good. 2nd place in OPL Premier.

Yes that would be the team. They play boot ball and have been taught nothing in form of real soccer. The only competition they've faced in the WA Championship is Eastside and they lost 3-0.

OPL U13 is very weak. I wouldn't brag about being in 2nd. Boot ball will only get you so far. There's only one team in the OPL U13 bracket that can compete with WA and it's surely not Nemesis.

The fact that Eastside beat them 3-0 shows that boot ball doesn't work against good teams.

Hell that one team is better than all of the Washington teams and they are getting better with all that sub par Oregon competition.

Read this 3 times and it just doesn't make any sense.
