Perhaps for parent bragging rights, but c'mon now if you are basing your ego on "my youth soccer club" vs "Your youth soccer club" you are truly pathetic.
It is all about developing the best players, which means putting them on teams with other "best" players and having them play against teams with still more "best" players. The key is to find the team with the right coach and the right group of players at your particular age at whatever club that will give your child the best chance to become the best he/she can be.

It's about #1) My player and their development and goal attainment. #2) Quality Coach & training #3) The team and their level of play etc.
The club only matters in that they provide an appropriate league and training facilities.
To argue one club is better than another is stupid. Ask yourself if your player is getting everything they need. If so then stay put this is a good club for you. If not ... move to a better environment.

when looking at a club look at these things:
what extra opportunities does my daughter have besides her team? Training one year down, a year up, two or three years up?
most clubs don't even have these opportunities mainly because coaches hoard players.
Fields for training and games.
Coaching credentials/playing experience
at younger ages does your coach move players around? because most don't....

Glad that VUSA has their sights set on beating the Seattle teams. Oregon on the other hand has their sights much, much higher.
You can't be that stupid.
Find ONE team GU-14 and above in Oregon that is better than top 3 of Washington. I really want to hear this one..........
Don't worry I'll wait......
Don't check NWCL because the top WA girls teams don't play NWCL U-14 above.......they already are going to surf and when no oregon team besides Onyx got out of group, best of WA realized this was a waste.....
When all of Washington in one group has 12-14 pts and the top team in the other group (all of oregon) doesnt have one win but goes to semi's...... don't stand behind that.
Still waiting..........
Don't check surf because Oregon teams don't get in to the top flights. I should point out that Washington has 2-3 teams in every age group at Surf.............................................. ...............how many does Oregon have?
still waiting...........
Don't check FarWest Regionals because Oregon teams don't even make it out of group
Still waiting............
Don't check ODP because with only 2 regional hold overs for 97 and 98 vs. Washington's 7.......
still waiting.............
Don't check RCL being top 5 leagues in the nation while OPL doesn't even register...............
still waiting..............
Its ok I'll wait for you to find something besides Onyx who has people driving 80 minutes to practice.....don't worry when they fall behind as all Oregon teams do, you will have noone to stand behind when spouting your nonsense about Oregon being MUCH HIGHER. HAHAHHAH

It's coaching, their coaching staff dwarfs Oregon. That might be a numbers thing but when you pay coaches 15k per team vs. a measly 3k per team in Oregon, you are going to get the professional coaches. How many kids in Oregon have a coach who has a full time job probably the same ratio as kids at Crossfire have coaches who don't do anything but coach soccer.
Its facilities, Turf, fields and money> Better facilities = better programs = better development.
Its structure, Its a fundamental difference between soccer organizations like washington premier vs. a THUSC. Professional programs run by administrators who actually do this for a living.
Its competence: WA ODP, RCL, run by professionals who know what works. Compared to a poor Oregon girls ODP program and a OPL director Angela who has no knowledge of what she is doing.
It's not numbers, its all of the above.
Oregon has 20+ clubs in the PDX area. Inconsistent coaches, mom and pop programs, poaching to go 10 miles away, its fail.

yes you do beat VUSA teams at some ages....keep in mind VUSA sends their "B", and one or two "Select" teams to the OPL.....you only see our top teams at U-10 and U-11...the rest are playing up north

Now, I will agree with you that there are too many clubs in the PDX area and that certainly compounds our underlying numbers issues.

VUSA is decent but no better all around than Oregon clubs.

VUSA '00 tied CUSC in NWCL as wel. I would say that is less than a dominating performance.
VUSA is decent but no better all around than Oregon clubs.
2) VUSA U-14 team that was finalists in NWCL back to back? Was this the same age group that for two years running Oregon couldn't get a team out of bracket in NWCL???? Right...............................1-0 win over FC Portland who can't even get out of bracket means little when they couldn't get out of their half against VUSA.
3) Was this the same VUSA 94's team that beat them prior 4-0 with ALL of their National team players? But yes they lost 3-0 having 4 age ups starting for them...Results do suffer when 5 starters are gone in Florida or Cali guest playing. But idiots like you just see the score
4) What about U-15? VUSA who was 30or 4th in their bracket at NWCL and still beat the #1 team from Oregon who didn't even get a win.
5) What about U-16 who opted out of NWCL and had their players play up with the 94's because they smashed the Oregon state Champs the year before....
6) There is no comparison.
