    Finally, We Did It!

Good luck to the new Vancouver Timbers!
The new club will be slightly less than 4k players top to bottom. They will now have the critical mass to implement a true player development model and address the infrastructure needs, i.e. turf field complex and continual improvement of Harmony Sports Complex.
The next extremely important task for the board is to select a top notch General Manager.
Putting all the pieces together to make a 4k organization reach its full potential is no easy task.
Exciting times for SW WA! Congratulations to all that have worked so hard for the last couple of years to make this a reality.

There seems to be a buzz in the couv that parents will be pre-emptively moving their kids at tryouts this year. Both ways. Seems logical doesn't it? If we are truly one club why wait to get little Johnny/Susie on the best team? I say go for it! Better to be a known quantity next year at combined tryouts.

Sounds wishful. Soccer is not about always being on the best team. From what I have seen the best teams at VUSA boot and chase. When you play where you can concentrate on development at practice and in games guess what happens, you learn the game and become a better player.

Does anyone know which clubs in Seattle area or Portland area are about this size? It would be interesting to compare results (after a year or so) to see how well this club is doing.

"Boot ball" is the most common slam in youth soccer. As in, "Oh, they're just playing bootball."

How did Chelsea score their final goal against Barca, anyways?

              Ouch got me there.

However bootball to me is a player getting rid of the ball because they either do not know what to do with the ball or do not have a better option. Soccer should be about feeling confident with the ball and finding alternatives when what the coach said to do is not available.

Your comment about VUSA's best teams being boot and chase is an absurd and ignorant generalization. You've watched every age and every gender Timber's "Red" team?
Your other comment about development is spot on but you lesson your credibility with such moronic statements.

That's exactly what's happening. Most of the best players will consolidate this spring.

So if VUSA has 4 teams in an age group and 3 teams play boot ball and 1 doesn't the generalization fit? Boot this back in your court please tell me Im wrong. This is not just a VUSA issue though.

If there are teams that are strong without merging those teams will most likely not try to join a B,C, or D team at VUSA this spring.

VUSA only teaches bootball. What a joke of a club.

I'm sure if they could find you in a dark alley, some VUSA parents would teach you a painful, new definition for bootball.

Well it's a joke of a city too. Wish they would put tolls on all of the bridges.

Only if the tolls keep you south of the river. We'll see who has the last laugh...
