I don't know what reality you claim to live in but it sure isn't here on earth. Rivalries and competition exist in every facet of life from school to sports to business. You name it. I work for a multibillion dollar company and everyday we battle our competitors. I had to compete against many others to get accepted into college and to play sports there. And when I was done I had to fight to get the postion I wanted with the company I wanted. Not to mention the HUGE rivalries in professional and collegiate sports. So I think you need to put down whatever you're inhaling and get a life.
I should have said rivals in sports. You are way to competitive.Probally work out to try and keep that blood pressure down. It's so easy to poke earthlings like you in the side. I bet you live your sports through your children now and make their life uncomfortable yelling from the sidelines. This is sports and it will always have villians that are coaches, parents and players. With your competitive nature you could star in a parent reality show on :"Referee you missed that call are You Blind". Hope to watch that one as the prelims at games are a hoot, rock on.

You know nothing about me so why the attack? Trying to make up for some insecurities? You're the one that admitted a mistake in your original post so now you attack me for my response? Who's the competitive one on blood pressure meds? Don't fatter yourself or strain a muscle patting yourself on the back for a witty comeback, it just made you look stupid. And you can't point a finger at me for that.

And river city redneck, as a matter of courtesy coaches are rarely shown an actual card if they are cautioned or dismissed. So I would bet this coach was given several warnings by the referee before they threw him out.
I don't remember hearing any SUBSTANTIATED reports of profanity until AFTER he was tossed in the game reports. The image that has been painted here is of a raving foul mouth rageaholic which is not even close to the truth.

Not awarding yellow cards would be a symptom of the lack of professionalism of Youth Soccer officials. If the coach earns a card give it to him to make it "official". If you knew anything about officiating a game you would know that verbal warnings are only as good as the manner in which they are given. Running past the coach and saying settle down or that's enough is not going to get the same result as stopping the game and warning him/her or awarding the card. This puts the coach in a different box on the sideline and tells his bench and any other adult that the ice is thin and they can help settle him/her down.

Simply flipping out the Red card is not good game management and any experienced Referee will tell you that. Experienced referees are EMBARASSED that they could not control a coach and had to toss one. Why because either they know they were having a bad game or they know that they did not do their job to administer a civil and competitive game!

For all the claimed soccer wisdom here let me remind you of a particularly important law of Soccer

"The decisions of the referee regarding facts connected with play, including whether or not a goal is scored and the result of the match, are final."

The referee has ultimate control of the game. Any coach should know that law. Any player should know that law. Arguments about the quality of the refs are not worth continuing. If we want better refs, we should be deliberate in pursuing that, but to argue a Red Card is not a red card because you didn't like the ref is silly

Oh wisecracker of the soccer board please tell me where I have been irrational? Please save me from what delusion; that MJ needs help, that OPL dropped the ball or that Referees can do a better job? Which one are you referring to or were you just typing to hear the sound of your own hate and illogic!

Lastly, I think it is cowardly to post your juvenile insults without registering a name so we can always identify who you are!

Just following the rules of this forum. If you don't like the rules, then don't read or post here. Your juvenile whinning is boring.

You are still looking for someone else to blame. If MJ needs help, look at THUSC leadership. They did nothing to help. Take this as a message for the type of Club you have joined. You can not point out the problem of others when you are blinded by you own issues.

                Simple

OK 9 red cards from 9 different officials in 3 different states. You are right it is a referee issue. MJ is perfect, all 9 referees were wrong.

GIVE ME A BREAK....... We are talking about 9 red cards. There is no defending this behavior. Very simple for simple minds.

How long will THUSC keep him

When will THUSC cut it's losses and let MJ find another club to work for? This is bad eye to them.

MJ is no longer employed by THUSC. The word went out last night.

There is no excuse for accumulating the number of cards MJ did this past year. Few players accumulate half that many over their entire career. Making excuses about the lack of policy by the OPL or THUSC is just an excuse. MJ knew he was out of line. If not, he is not the professional he claims to be.

MJ set a terrible example for his players and has no place on the pitch.

No other club would hire him, now or down the road. Move to Washington would be my suggestion. He'll never wear an FC, WSM, or LO coaching gear.

MJ has played professional soccer on three continents and shares his love and respect for the game with his players however being a passionate and competitive person he can let his mouth get him into trouble. Does that make him a bad coach? Hardly. Does than mean he needs a reminder every now and then to tone down? Yes. Does 9 red cards in 60+ games mean he is a train wreck that could hurt his players in the process...I don’t think so! Does the punishment fit the crime? No. It’s not as if he hit or even touched a Ref in the process of being sent off!
You are completely wrong. 9 red cards in 60+ games? 9 red cards is too many for 1,000+ games.

No league in the world would accept the number of red cards MJ has accumulated in the past year. None. Part of being a professional is knowing what line to not cross. MJ clearly does not understand this.

MJ's punishment absolutely fits the crime. He is unfit to coach at any level.

Why are you rehashing this over and over? Do you have personal vendetta? Post #190 made it clear. He is gone. Enough said. Move on.

I agree. It is time to close this chapter. There has been a lot of painful and bad feeling about this issue.

We all should take this lesson to heart about our own behavior. We are all accountable for our actions on and off the field. We can ask forgiveness, but our actions still have a price to be paid.

Good luck to all this weekend. Some will win and some will lose, but all are winners for getting this far.
