    Ireland vs PDX

This should be a good game. PDX has suffered many injuries lately but they have been able to match Ireland's recruiting for their injuries. PDX will be flying in 4 players from a powerful northern California club. US Club has approved the player transfer.

The California players will stay with family members of the PDX team through the weekend and will be available for the Ireland/Navy game on Sunday, too.

Here's to a good game with no more injuries.

Wish we would of known that US Club would allow guest playing in NWCL. PSS had a keeper play both games for them Saturday and then she turned around and played for her 93 Tynecastle team Sunday. Now Navy is bringing in 4 players to help them beat Ireland. Sunderland took a trip to Seattle with 12 healthy players early in the season which cost them both games and most likely any chance of moving on. Had they been able to have some depth off the bench they might well still be in the hunt.

Who pays for the flights? This seems a bit unfair and ridiculous to me. If you can't beat a team on your own then maybe you need to step up your game. Borrow players from within your club if your short handed.

Why go through all this trouble? It doesn't look like they can make the top 4 anyway.

          ELIGIBILITY AND PLAYER REGISTRATION
          Rule 200: Player Registration
Players shall be registered according to the procedures established by US Club Soccer.
          Rule 201: Master Rosters
Individual teams may have a player pool of up to 22 players for the league season. There is no
limit to the number of changes that can be made to the roster provided the players to be added
or dropped are active in the team’s club and are not on the US Club Soccer roster of a team in a
          different club.
          Page 2
          Rule 202: Game Day Rosters
Only 18 of 22 players may be used for matches. The 18 players must be on the official game
roster given to the match official and opposing team before the start of the game. The 4 players
not being played must have a line through their name on the roster or are otherwise identified
on the roster as not being eligible for the particular game.
All players and coaches must present their US Club Player Identification Card to the referee
prior to the match. If the individual’s picture is not on the ID card and the card is not laminated,
the individual will not be eligible for the match.

What is the difference in what PDX is "supposedly" doing and what Ireland has already has already done with FC Will players?

So you are telling me that players from CA are going to miss 3-4 days of school, spend hundreds of dollars just to play 2 league games, one of which has no meaning? Is it me or has youth sports gone to far?

You could just use Ireland's strategy of recruiting players away from other teams in the middle of their commitment to their current club. It doesn't require flying, and it definitely makes the other clubs (ESUFC, FCW, etc.) less able to compete.

Sometimes life experiences like this are more valuable than missing a couple days of school. Especially if that kid is a good student. Committed and dedicated "youth sports players" usually end up being more successful in life.

Hey FC has to do something to compete. Since their coaches don't coach ODP they don't have that pool of players to recruit from.

Quit spreading rumours. The board only approved 2 players coming in. They allowed them to match the 2 players that Ireland just added.

I thought Ireland only added one player from the original roster

Funny how they magically ended up with 2 95 ODP players from ESUFC and OSSA then!!!
